Paramore makes my butt spit. Your call on whether or not that is a good thing.

Pretty sure this announcement was made because these bands are touring together and about to release their schedule anyway. I am a bit surprised at the "co-headliner" thing and for the Saturday spot, but looking back at last year and year 1, for me.... the headliners were NOT what got me excited.
I am actually a pretty big fan of New Politics. I was going to go see them in Columbus next month, but might skip that now. However, Sleeper Agent and Magic Man are also on the bill, and it's only $5 .... so , I may go anyway.

Yeah, the only reason they announced them was because they were about to announce their tour. I think it would help ticket sales though to at least give a clue or two create some buzz instead of announcing the three and then letting it lay dormant while announcing bands for a festival that is going to go on the weekend after. It's country in Cincinnati, it's going to do well. Bunbury has to battle with Forecastle which thankfully is on different weekends this year, but still i think it would help to keep a buzz alive. buzz alive.. no pun intended.

I expect some clues soon. They may have started already. I'm terrible at figuring out the clues or even knowing when I'm getting/seeing a clue

I just don't understand. Some in this thread are saying FOB and Paramore would have been good headliners in 2006 and are no longer relevant. Others are saying that they appeal to 16 year olds. So ... um ... wouldn't that put both bands int he same ballpark as, say, year 1 headliner Weezer? They appeal to both a 30-something crowd AND a high-school aged crowd? These two bands haven't inspired me to buy a ticket yet but, come on, so many more bands to be announced. To write the festival off just because they've booked these two is silly.
If you're not checking out bands all day long, you're not doing it right. Want to know a little secret? I didn't want a single headliner in 2013 - left the park early AND still felt completely satisfied because I saw some GREAT bands throughout the day.
Don't like FOB and Paramore? Don't watch 'em.

I just wish they would announce a few other artists to maybe spark some interest in the people who aren't interested in FOB and Paramore. I already have my ticket and plan on going anyways, but there are people out there who are still dancing around the idea of spending their money either on Bunbury or Forecastle. It helps that they are on different weekends, but there are still people who are probably going to go to one or the other. I just think it might help with ticket sales, especially for people on the fence. Hell they have no problem announcing the country artists for Buckle Up. Either way, I'm gonna have fun..that's what really matters.

All good points. Fall Out Boy WERE bigger in 8 years ago and their main fanbase WAS kids in High School. You know who those people are now? 19-25 year olds, which I would guess is close to the main demographic that attends the festival anyways. It's a huge booking, it's going to do well. I'm sure they'll book a pretentious headliner on Friday to appease the hipsters and an old band to appease all the old folks.

FOB/Paramore fans aren't real music fans who can be found on obscure music festival message boards. They are to busy at the mall buy "Vintage" shirts so they can look cool.

also back to the we don't have more than 12 votes... I think the FB/Twitter scuttlebutt is pretty telling that our little poll was right on. Bunbury will still do fine ticket sales wise, but they have absolutely crashed and burned in the public opinion space.

I think our small poll speaks along with the general consensus, i even tried to get some FOB fans to join and vote ha
