Neutral Milk Hotel also fits my theory. I think they are playing Columbus a week before Bunbury. They also fit the "breaking up" and reuniting bit This actually makes a lot of sense. I didn't think of them. I'd say the best bets are them and Afghan Whigs considering this is trying to be an indie rock festival, at least I think.

Watch it end up some off the wall band we haven't discussed.. Our maybe some older classic act..

It's not Afghan Whigs, Pixies, Replacements, New Order etc. We are thinking way too cool. While it is an older band that just got back together, this band will not change anyone's opinion of the lineup. This has been confirmed by someone who knows what the missing band is.

I thought all we knew was that it is a band that recently reunited. Did he say it was not a game changer? I think New Order, Pixies, etc. are a tall order, though. Black Crowes, Soundgarden, or maybe an R&B act are in the realm of possibility. IMO.

My source is super reliable, and they told me that it won't do anything to make people like the lineup any better. They know who the band is, but I couldn't pry it out of them.

Chris Cornell could save this line up. I love CC, but I completely disagree. There is no real saving this lineup at this point, Not with one single band. If anything a band like Soundgarden would be salt in the wound. One (or three) really good bands in a sea of crap and mediocrity. I would only just make me long for a Soundgarden show (with better SG fans and less people, for less money) Sorry Bunbury.

Save the lineup or not.. a good band is a good band... I think CC and Soundgarden would be a big plus.
Still thinking maybe The Violent Femmes? They just reunited last year.

I hate all things Soundgarden related. I realize their importance in the early years of Sub Pop, but I do not like them at all.

I was speaking for myself when I made the comment about Chris, this lineup is a huge disappointment and nowhere near worth the price of admission.

I was speaking for myself when I made the comment about Chris, this lineup is a huge disappointment and nowhere near worth the price of admission. I am not calling it a disappointment yet... I need to give the undercard its fair share of listens. but even after 3 days, I agree, the headliners really lacked punch (still hoping for something decent on the 3rd). End of the day, having this in your backyard (given you are from the Cincinnati area), we should support it. This festival will simply fade away without the support. While we all thing its ehh.. I am sure there are a good amt of people who are stoked for it, though.

Also... Fall Out Boy was DEFINITELY the wrong impression they wanted to give off in a festival's 3rd year. A band that is practically irrelevant and wasnt even half decent to begin with when they were. I mean, I could care less for Fun. or MGMT... but at least I can appreciate their talent. May not be my style, but at least they are musicians. F.O.B., was nothing more than a punkish / rockish One Direction. High School girls Cincy wide rejoice.

You don't have to like Fun. to appreciate what they brought to the festival.
They were on top of the world right at the time they were announced as headliner and they ended up selling out that day for the festival.
And for the record, like them or not, they put on a Hell of a show. I've seen a lot of bands that I don't really care for on the radio, but I will always appreciate somebody who puts on a great show for the crowd whether I like them or not.
I definitely don't see anybody at that level this year, barring a surprise for the third headliner.

While I dont care much for them, they put on a good show and as long as it pulls a good crowd, I dont care who it is. More times than not, I wont care for a headliner unless its like Pearl Jam or Metallica. Most other bands on a headlining level, I dont really care for all that much. PJ and Metallica are a above and beyond the Bunbury level (at this time). The bands I would like to see on stage for 2 hours are normally the bands playing between 3- 7pm.

Was anyone else under the mistaken impression that Smallpools was playing Bunbury? I just noticed they aren't on the list and weren't even on the initial list that came out Friday morning. It seems as if they are opening for Neon Trees on tour and are playing at least 2 of the 3 Bunbury days on tour with them.
I wonder if they just fell through because they decided to hook up on tour with Neon Trees.

Given the 'insider' clues, I thought I knew who the 3rd headliner was gonna be...Third Eye Blind. That was until I googled them and saw that they are not a reuniting band. They've been around all this time? Really? lol. Well, I'm glad it's not going to be them! Personally, I'm happy with the current line-up. And I'm not local. Or in high school. : )

LOL, Walk the Moon isn't that bad. It's their fans that are annoying. If we can avoid all of the "bros" in their neon tank tops and face paint, I'll be okay with that. If anybody doesn't want to do the leg work, I've got a 2014 Bunbury Festival playlist up and running in Spotify. I did it last year and it was pretty successful. I'm just putting four songs from each band that has four songs available on Spotify. It's good for getting a quick sample to decide if you think you might like someone. Here is the link. Feel free to subscribe if you like. I've got 45 bands up so far and will continue to add. This playlist is AMAZING Every sing I hear is just AWESOME. Currently "Morning Parade - under the stars" is blowing me away. Thanks

You didn't used to be able to, but I think that recently changed. I belive all you have to do is go onto your Spotify profile on the computer and subscribe to the playlist. Then I think it will show up under your playlists if you log in on a mobile device.
I haven't tested this out since I pay for it.
Best $10 a month I've ever spent if you ask me. I love Spotify.
ETA: I think if you can, that you can only listen to it on Shuffle. I don't think it will let you choose what songs to listen to. But again, I'm not completely clear on that.
