Just an observation, but it seems like they are alternating the Hive Hints with a mainstream act one day followed by a lesser known band.
Day 1 - The Neighbourhood (mainstream)
Day 2 - J Roddy Walston
Day 3 - The Wombats (mainstream)
Day 4 - Umphrey's McGee
Day 5 - Elle King (mainstream)
I had a feeling today would be an act I had heard of before. Not sure if they will continue this way, but its an interesting pattern to anticipate what's coming.

They did a lot last year. I want to say it was through the entire month of February. I think they cut it down because people were complaining about it dragging on. I think they'll probably do one more week of hints (possibly two a day), then release the lineup the week after next. |

Yes, there were 21 last year. 3 weeks with 1 hint, and the 4th week did 2 a day until the lineup was announced. I think they'll do 5 next week, then 2 a day starting the 29th until the 2nd. Lineup will drop on March 3rd, so 16 total hints. |

The problem with making it harder is that you start to get two or three different bands that can be guessed from a hint.
I'm not really looking for speculation. I'm hoping to get a newly confirmed band every day. Now after a week we are pretty sure we know five bands that will be there rather than speculating on five bands out of a pool of ten or twenty.

There are way too many football pictures out there that they could have chosen. "Ex's and Oh's" is one of the biggest songs out there and they know that. They wouldn't tease us with that picture if it was American Football. Just my opinion.

But I do still agree that this is for Elle King. " True, but was Lego House a big song? "Ex's and Oh's" was Grammy nominated as "Best Rock Song of the Year". And this hint came 4 days after the Grammys. I also see a reference to her second song "Under the Influence" here. This play is drunk lol. The defense is missing 3 players (3 X's, like in the song). When in doubt, I look at Promowest history. Elle King played in Columbus last year. Didn't see and records of American Football with Promowest. |
