Is there a website or anything yet?

bellwetherfest.com/It's at the grounds for the Cincinnati Renaissance Festival. Looks like there will be camping. That's something the other local festivals don't give us.

This looks cool. I'm not like SUPER into the acts announced thus far but the direction they seem to be leaning towards genre wise has me very intrigued.

Looks pretty cool to me. Flaming Lips are a great act to watch. I wish they would bring back a decent festival to the Columbus area though...

I find it strange when new festivals like this come out of nowhere and they book big bands and release those names before they have a full lineup

Wow not bad at all, 85 bucks for 4 bands (and that's right now) I've never seen and would like to see. I'm damn near sold

Looks like they are announcing more bands on Thursday and then raising the prices on Friday . I’m not sure if the picture they posted on instagram is a clue since it’s blurred out. I don’t have any guesses as to who it is though.

The second post on their Twitter account says "If you know where to look, we already announced another band. #bellwether #musicfestival #camping"
I've looked all over though and I'll be damned if I see anything anywhere.
The picture they posted today appears to just be a stock photo. A reverse image search shows it come up with all kinds of random descriptions.

Oh, I think I just found it. If you look on Twitter, the only bands they are following are the five bands that were already announced and The Psychedelic Furs. I'm betting they are the one the post is referring to.

HOW is it that the only festivals we actually have really are like Breakaway Festival? (I'm not considering FMMF a real festival). PromoWest is HQ'd here yet doesn't run a proper festival here. And you could easily do one at Mapfre, it's not hard. Maybe can't do camping, but come on.

Everyone my age knows them from the song "Pretty in Pink" which was used in the same movie. If you've ever listened to any 80s New Wave you've probably heard "Love My Way" even if you don't know it by name. They're not bad if you like that sort of thing. I'd check them out if I was there but they wouldn't draw me to the festival.

I know at some point today they are announcing more acts, but I looked on their Twitter and they've added Japanese Breakfast and Bob Schneider to the list they are following.

I know it's probably not in everyone's taste but Breakaway Festival is coming back to Columbus and has expanded to 3 Days. Hopefully that means they book some more acts outside of the dubstep and straight rap variety like they did the first time they brought it around. Either way, it's good to see Columbus embracing a festival in such a capacity.

Bellwether just made their announcement for the day. It was only the three bands already mentioned. Psychedelic Furs, Bob Schneider, and Japanese Breakfast.
They also posted that the full lineup is coming April 5th.

Maybe it's just not the demographic that I hang out with but I had absolutely no idea this fest has been going on since 2013. Saw they had twenty one pilots back in the day

Coming to the festival I didn't know what to expect, but i figured it would be in and around the stadium. It actually takes place in a shockingly small area, It's two stages in the mapfre parking lot. There's one stage that's tiny and doesn't really have any big names playing, and the other stage is pretty big and that's where all the big names are so naturally that stage is packed at all hours of the day. Not a great festival if you like EDM I'd say, but if you like rap I'd go for it.

You NEED to put a stage in the stadium if you are going to do it three days at least. I noticed the lineup last year was rap heavy with some dubstep mashed in. They need to do more variety but I noticed the Dallas lineup they released thus far is almost exclusively Rap. I'm not a rap fan so that wont get me to go. There are big names in EDM they could get but for some reason have kind of went the route of just some middling players thus far. PSG is pretty good at booking talent so I'm surprised thus far they haven't booked more. I went to the first one in 2013 (then they took 2 years off which is why ppl don't remember them) but they had Twenty One Pilots, Bassnectar, Kendrick Lamar, Porter Robinson, Robert DeLong, Tritonal, Empire of the Sun, Tokyo Police Club ... I don't know how many tickets were sold (it wasn't marketed that well) but that is a great lineup. They need to do more of that and less just rap and dubstep. That's only going to bring in so many people and keep them interested.

We tried promowest fest (which I loved) but it absolutely tanked with next to no ticket sales. I honestly just think it has to do with marketing and social media exposure

PromoWest is located here in Columbus and should be able to understand the market and be able to create and promote a festival better than most and yet somehow can only make the Country one they do in Southeast Ohio and Bunbury work. It's odd.

They are taking a year off this year and bringing it back next year. I think that has more to do with needing a variety of big name country acts to headline without repeating all the time and the talent available this summer wasn't up to par with what they've done in the past.
