Little late to the party, but I'm sticking with MGK right now

Janes Addiction - "Been Caught Stealing" And didn't they play the first Bunbury? Seems like a good guess. Although alt-j would be amazing.

I know it's wrong, but first thing that came to my mind is Bear Hands or The Killers

Finger prints. Prints. Prince.
Prince confirmed!
whitneyhouston: JFC I've been wanting to see The Killers for ages. I'd love for them to headline, even if this clue has nothing to do with them.
Also... crime related clues. Smooth Criminal. Alien Ant Farm confirmed! Yeah, I'm pretty certain it's MGK at this point, but I can hope otherwise...
Finger Eleven?

Let's be honest here. When we first thought it was Alt-J, the crowd went wild like last year when mike told us Arctic Monkeys were booked...then someone had to hit us with reality that it's really MGK and we sunk into our chairs...

Agreed, now I'm just hoping MGK fans aren't anything like the Post Malone fans that camped out at his stage and allegedly booed all the bands leading up to Post Malone.

I actually don't think this will be the case. I looked up some info on MGK and I guess he meshes very well with the rock crowd. He played Rock on the Range 2 years fairly high up on the billing as well as playing on the warped tour. Interestingly, outside of California, Ohio is he most played in state.

Late to the party, but I've been doing a bit of digging:
MGK only has a few January and February shows booked.
As Whitney mentioned, he played Rock on the Range last year and was billed 10th, and was billed 14th at Rocklahoma, a similar festival. He doesn't do a lot of mainstream festivals comparable to Bunbury, but he did do Kaboo Del Mar in 2017 where he was billed all the way down at 23rd below acts like The Wallflowers, Live, T-Pain, and DJ Diesel (Shaq).
I know he's gained some notoriety since that Kaboo appearance, but I don't see him in the top 5 as the #1 rap act. I expect third line, somewhere around #10.
But I do agree, it looks like we are indeed getting MGK

Also, upon using the google machine, I came across a lot of articles saying things like "MGK is going to explode in 2019 and get really popular"

MGK is from Cleveland that explains the why Ohio is his second most played state.
MGK also had a top hit a year or two ago called Bad Things. Sampled that fastball song and used the same chorus with some changed words.

I know a lot of people hate on MGK, but I've seen him many times and there's one thing for sure... he puts on one hell of a live show for a "rapper".

I saw him at Ubahn a few years ago and he killed it. I was surprised to see him actually play a guitar. And they covered another bands skng. I can’t remem if it was Nirvana or Foo Fighters though.

Yessir! I was at that show in the tunnel and I agree it was great! I've seen him cover Nirvana and Blink 182 both live which is pretty cool. Also, so sad that UBahn seems to be no more after skipping this year. ;( But... at least we have Bunbury!!

MGK will pair well with younger fans of blink at the fest, he makes pretty pop-punk influenced rap. Not sure if he’s quite big enough to close a stage at a multi genre fest though. Could see him as a sub

I had a thought on this. The Revivalists have a song called Criminal. The fingerprints could represent that.
