Anyone have thoughts on what stages/schedules will look like? Obviously that'll be released closer to the festival but I'm curious how they'll spread things out. Last year a couple of the choices (especially on River Stage) didn't seem to make much sense.

Last year a couple of the choices (especially on River Stage) didn't seem to make much sense. I'll start with who I think will close each main stage each night. Nissan:Friday: Fall Out Boy Saturday: Greta Van Fleet Sunday: The 1975 Sawyer Point:Friday: Either STP or NF Saturday: Awolnation Sunday: Girl Talk I'll have to do a little thinking for the other ones but I'll put those down later.

As you know, I am not going this year but my source gave me some info. It's still a few months out but this is the proposed schedule so far. Before you ask, no, I did not get any other details further down the lineup or about the river stage.
Friday Nissan-Fall Out Boy Sawyer-Stone Temple Pilots Nissan-Machine Gun Kelly Sawyer-NF
Saturday Nissan-Greta Van Fleet Sawyer-Awolnation Nissan-Blue October Sawyer-Sublime with Rome Nissan-Dashboard Confessional
Sunday Nissan-The 1975 Sawyer-Girl Talk Nissan-Run the Jewels Sawyer-Clutch Nissan-Lovelytheband

Anybody know when the daily schedule should be announced? Usually about 2 weeks before. I'll leak it as soon as I find out anything but I'm not going this year so I can't guarantee I actively hound my source for it

Keep in mind, I've been told they juggle the schedule around A LOT. I guess the headliners give input about who they want at their stage "opening" for them and some bands lobby to play certain stages and stuff. Sounds like a political disaster to me. Last year for example. Dropkick Murphys absolutely refused to share the same backstage area as Post Malone so they had them on opposite stages playing at the same time. That was very evident if you stayed for their set and the lead singer was ripping on Post Malone after virtually every song lol.

LOL They actually did it. I KNEW they would put lovelytheband on the River Stage. It wouldn't be Bunbury if they put a band entirely too popular on the River Stage.

Sublime w/ Rome closing down Sawyer Point is a joke

The biggest joke is GvF playing only an hour. Fitting right into their whole “These children can’t play a ‘real’ set!” thing.

Don't worry, the shows always end around 11ish. It's not uncommon for festival headliners to only play for an hour though. Hell, I have been to designated concerts where the headliner didn't even play 60 minutes. Last time blink was in Columbus and actually played the show, they played for about 45 minutes.

I thought seeing the daily schedule would get me hyped up, but instead I'm just more bummed...almost everyone is a band I'd go check out if I had free time in my schedule, but wouldn't prioritize.
I probably won't even stay the whole day on Saturday or Sunday.

Meanwhile I’m out here confused as to what to do Friday ... Saturday and Sunday I’ll be at main stage the entire day. Friday is a toss up.
The Orphan The Poet has some no-shame catchy songs. Poppy is fucking weird and I’m here for it. I feel like Joywave will put on a banger. I’ve been told PPPP are a must-see, but River Stage is putting me off.
My weirdest dilemma is STP and FOB at the end of the night. I like STP’s stuff a lot, but it’s not the same without Weiland. Then for FOB, I was super into their old stuff, but I doubt they’ll play much.
I have VIP but I’m pretty sure it’d be too busy to really get around near the end of STP to FOB.
Those first world problems goin’ hard.
Anyone seen STP post-Weiland or even Bennington?

If it's down to FOB's setlist, they play a decent amount of old stuff - all singles but if it's close to the Reading and Leeds setlist last year, it's 2-3 songs off of basically every album.

Even without VIP, you can get from stage to stage before the headliner in about 5 minutes if you use the path closer to the river and bathrooms. Just leave STP 1 song early and you will be at FOB before the start easily

With all of the rain we've gotten, I doubt the River Stage is actually on the river this year. It'll probably be in the field like it was a couple years ago. They need like two weeks of low water to clear that stage area and setup, I think the river was above the stage level a couple days ago.

I'm kind of surprised how many artists on the Bunbury lineup aren't on tour right now or are basically kicking off their tour around Bunbury
FOB - only three dates on their website, the next closest to Bunbury is in August. We're the first Run the Jewels - Three appearances listed, Bunbury is right after they play in London. Girl Talk - Bunbury first, two festivals after that and then nothing,. NF - hard to tell, but only finding like two or three dates all year. Machine Gun Kelly - a few sparse shows up until Bunbury, then an intense tour. AWOLNATION - two shows all year, Bunbury first STP - Just starting a tour now. Sublime - same...kicking off at Bunbury Dashboard - six dates all summer
etc etc etc...
I kind of like that most of the bands are just kicking off our doing minimal engagements. They'll be well rested and ready to see a crowd.
