Shaky Knees “leak” saying My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, and The Cure. I already got my blind buy tickets for the festival and booked my AirBnB, and I hope those aren’t the three. I say that only because I’ve never listened to MMJ or The Cure (though I’m open to both), and KoL are purely awful live. I saw them at Firefly a few years ago and they were an absolute bore.
Red Hot Chili Peppers + The Killers + The Raconteurs would be my kinda Shaky Knees line up — even though RHCP is evidently trash live now.

I really like a lot of their music My girlfriend had been waiting 5+ years to see KOL and I got her tickets to their last show in Columbus and we both thought it was one of the worst shows we have ever been to. We showed up around 7:45 and walked directly to the barricade and the place was empty in the Schottenstein center (18,000 capacity). They had MAYBE 4,000 people there and they could not have looked less interested in being there.

I get the sense KOL wanted to be what Imagine Dragons is. Or a cross between Mumford and Dragons. They weren't even able to headline a lot of festivals off that latest album, surprised someone would nab them to be headliners this time. I can also confirm RHCP are the worst. Worst concert I had ever been to (they were touring for Stadium Arcadium). AND they proceeded to play the Michigan fight song to end the show IN COLUMBUS. This was a few days before OSU/Michigan 1v2 but still...how are you going to troll your audience at the end like that when 100% of them are Buckeyes fans.

I've never seen RHCP and I'm an OSU fan, but Anthony Keidis is from Michigan. Given the rivalry I think that's actually kind of brilliant. I'd have booed the Hell out of him, but you gotta appreciate the gall he had to do it.

Yeah, I've heard from someone who was at an afterparty with KOL that they are the biggest douchebags imaginable. Glad that leak was completely and utterly false.

Something like:
The Black Keys - Vampire Weekend - Odesza Kid Cudi - Foals
I'd go to that. I'm just excited bc it's lineup season this is probably pretty far off what we actually get. I'm thinking a little more pop-punk in there so maybe take out foals and put in Angels and Airwaves

AvA is a great show though. Would love to see them there.

Hey I’m back! Didn’t go last year. Surprisingly enough this looks like it could be a promising year for a solid lineup. And new news?

Although I doubt they were ever actually a real possibility, we can rule out Coldplay. They are not touring on this album for environmental reasons. I thought they would at least do some festivals, but I guess not.

I'm intrigued if they do happen to find some environmentally conscious way to tour.

The Airborne Toxic Event have announced the first leg of their tour. There is no Ohio date, which is unusual. However, they play Charlotte on Sat, June 6th, then don't have another date until Toronto on June 9th. I feel a spot on the Sunday Bunbury lineup is a definite possibility.

CHVRCHES has a new single out. Hoping that means new music and a tour. I'd love to see them at Bunbury

Feels like a pretty good bet. I’ve never listened to them myself, but based on their “similar bands”, they sound like a band I could get into. EDIT: Maybe not — looks like they play May 30, 31, June 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. They could play Sunday (the 7th) but holy shit that’s a lot of consecutive days of touring. EDIT 2: Nevermind. They have a day off June 1. Seems more possible seeing that. It feels really likely they’d be there based on their tour locations and where they’ll be around that time. Seems like a good bet.

That still seems awfully tight to me, but then again, we have to remember last year and how we pretty much have to throw all scheduling expectations out the door after the way they had Run the Jewels and The 1975 shoehorned into the schedule.

Happy Thanksgiving! We’re closing in on the lineup!!
I’m starting to really think we’ll get Lil Wayne as a rap a headliner. He checks all the boxes as a possible bunbury headliner in my book. He’s got a ton of hits and I don’t think he’s that expensive, plus I think he’s got a little bit of cred in the pop punk circles bunbury seems to be going after.

On another note, here's a band that everyone forgot about that is suddenly back with new music: Neon Trees. They just released their first single in 5 years and it appears to be heading up the alt and rock charts. They did a few festivals out of the blue last year. They're a little random, but Bunbury is known for throwing some curveballs. I'm putting them in as a dark horse for an undercard act.

I don't remember if we covered this yet or not but The Killers are OUT for 2020. They're doing a big Europe tour and will be playing in England all Bunbury weekend. They do have a new album coming out next year and I expect to see them doing some festivals back in the US after their European tour. I was thinking they could be a real possibility, but they're out.

Am I to assume at this point there will be no fantasy league?

Am I to assume at this point there will be no fantasy league? I was told this was only done in the past to try to gather information about what artists they should try to book in the spots that they had open. Basically if they needed a 3rd tier act, they would see who had the most votes and try to get that band but it didn't work out as well as they wanted. I haven't heard if it's disbanded this year but I know that it normally has started by now.

I don't know how many people participated in it every year but I always thought it was kind of weak that out of everyone, only ONE person won tickets to the festival. It's probably early still but do we have any idea of when they'll do the Hive Hints this year? I hope they put a little more effort behind it this year, I remember last year it was like really all over the place and I think you had said, whitney, that internally they didn't really see it as a priority either or something along those line?

I don't recall exactly what my source told me last year, but it was something along the lines of them not wanting to put forth the effort because they didn't see it as worthwhile. I personally think it's a great marketing tactic as people share it on social media and get comments going. But hey, I don't work there!

Went to the CD 102.5 holiday show last night and I want to toss K. Flay in for Bunbury 2020. She was GOOD and really got the crowd going. There were evidently a lot of people there just to see her as at least 1/4 of the place left as soon as she finished. For those familiar with the venue, you could walk right up to the gate overlooking the pit with no one bugging you. I wouldn't call it "emtpy" but there were not a lot of people for Silversun Pickups

I would have probably been one of those people that left after her though. Silversun Pickups don't do anything for me. lol I could see her being on the lineup and all of us immediately knowing she'd be the top candidate for "artist that's entirely too big to be on the Riverstage and will overflow the crowd"
