Pollstar.com shows the Black Owls on Sunday. Not sure if this is a mistake or if this is a confirmation? I'd say if pollstar hands them its pretty much a lock.

Can't say I'm a huge Outkast fan, but that would be a solid headliner.

Can't say I'm a huge Outkast fan, but that would be a solid headliner. I disagree. I think Outkast would be a major disappointment. I spent time at many UC concerts. I remember seeing T Pain, Ludacris, and Big Boi from Outkast. These were all terrible, and I felt every act was washed up. I would feel the same way about Outkast. If they come, that's fine. If they headline, that's not ok.

I'm not saying I would care to see them, but considering they are headlining several other large festivals, Governor's Ball, Hangout, Counterpoint, Coachella. I think they would definitely be headlining.

I think they would definitely be headlining. Yeah, I see that now. I'm just confused as to why they are so big. They have one big hit, and that's really it. Also, it would be interesting if Bunbury brought in hip hop as a headliner.

I think a lot of it has to do with not playing a show in the past 8 years or something, so it's kind of a big reunion for those who do like them.

Um, not to be that guy but you must be very young or have a narrow view of what's big to think they have only one "hit" - (they have 3 #1 to be exact) but more to the point, they are arguably the most influential hip hop duo in history, and definitely the best selling. The last record (Speakerboxx/Love Below) is approaching 12 million sold alone. they've won 4 AMA's 5 Brits, & 6 Grammys and been nominated for 20+ more. Their last 3 albums have all debuted in the Billboard top 10. Pitchfork, Mojo, Loaded, Spin, Q, and Rolling Stone all rank Stankonia in the top 100 records since 2000. I could go on... You still confused?

Considering I know Elevators, Ms. Jackson, BOB, Hey Ya, Rosa Parks, So Fresh and So Clean and don't listen to Outkast I think shows their popularity.

Anyone see any chance of Beirut playing? I highly doubt it but it would make the festival for me.
Also I love Outkast and think it would be a huge hit, and I think it would be in the right direction for Bunbury to branch out to hip/hop even if it is just a little.

Ok, solid points on Outkast. I just saw Big Boi and was less than impressed. I guess, over the years, I forgot how big they really were. With Bastille coming to Madison Theater on May 30th, do we think they're out for Bunbury?

Hmm. I would think that would make them less likely.

Big boi isn't bad but with andre 3000 in the mix, it's magic.

Regardless Bunbury wont go from no rap to a rap headliner. And I'm pretty sure they're playing Forecastle

First off, I like that Outkast is touring again this summer. However; if they are hitting 40 other music festivals, it would be my preference that they not play at Bunbury. For a young festival -- one which is still trying to find it's identity -- I believe Bunbury needs to work hard NOT to look like every other festival.

The sarcasm in your reply got a chuckle. And, actually a fine point. If being different means FOB and Paramore, it might be better to be the same. (Although, as I have said elsewhere, there is a very big demographic for these bands. Whether or not I like them, they are relevant and they will draw crowds. And if this helps keep Bunbury viable and helps keep a venue for the more obscure bands that I like... well then, this I can support.)

The only way a festival will get bigger is by bringing in different kinds of music. Paramore and FOB just seem like they would be a boring show now a days, I would be so pumped if they brought in bands like Sublime with Rome or incubus! Either would be so awesome.

I heard Outkast was amazing when they played at Bonaroo like 3 years back. I reallllly hope that are at Bunbury. As for Fall Out Boy and Paramore, this announcement makes me cringe.

Assuming Bunbury's website is correct that Bunbury bands will be performing at the Lineup Announcements, I think we can add these bands to the list.
According to Cincinnati.com,
Cincinnati will have music by The Ready Stance, Heavy Hinges, and another to be determined act. Lexington will have Big Fresh and Fanged Robot. Columbus will have Local Love Indianapolis will have Bonesetters and The Easthills
I'm assuming these are all smaller local bands to the venue they are playing in.

FYI - The event in Columbus is being held at the Fourth Street Bar. Every Thursday night they have an event where two local bands play and it's called "Local Love". There is no band called Local Love.

The initial lineup for Pitchfork came out, and it's the weekend after Bunbury in Chicago. God I hope we don't get Neutral Milk Hotel as a headliner but I could totally see it happening
