I guess I'm going with Father John Misty, but this is a terrible clue. What's more it blows the "all clues point to a song" pattern. I guess I'm going Ed Sheeran, Avett Brothers, the Kooks, Young the Giant and Father John Misty.

They also claim it breaks the "clever hint in the text" pattern, but first of all only hint #2 (and MAYBE hint #4) seemed to have clues in their captions AND if there isn't any clever hint in the caption it means the beard is actually irrelevant...right??? This whole thing is just very confusing, and like I said it seems like their hints are either getting worse, or they're trying to make them ambiguous and confusing.

The thing to remember is these are not professional puzzle makers. I am sure the hints make sense to them. Especially since they are the ones who know exactly what they are trying to hint at. we just have to do the best to interpret them that we can.

The "no hint in text" thing followed immediately by what seems to be the "hint" in the text that everyone's focusing on just is really confusing me. Is "no hint in the text" just a joke that I took seriously?

Is "no hint in the text" just a joke that I took seriously? Technically the quote reads "We dont have a snappy, clever hint to offer you in text on this one... but check out that beard!" It doesn't say there isn't a hint in the text. Just not a snappy clever one. Instead they could mean we are just straight out pointing you towards the beard.

I mean if they're just pointing at a band with the lead singer that has a beard, then yes it's a bad hint since damn near every band has someone with a beard these days. The only way it's a slightly clever hint is if it's Jamestown Revival imo. People would need to connect John Smith to Jamestown (not all that hard), and then to Jamestown Revival. For the Wakarusa, on their tour they say they're playing Thursday the 4th, which would not be much of a conflict. I'd much rather it be Father John Misty, but I think a bearded John would be pretty weak for a clue when there would be so many better clues they could use for FJM.

Alright, bruno is winning me over to Jamestown Revival. At least that would be a more clever hint and I could understand better why they would post that type of hint for a band with that name. Promo West bought buckle up as well, didn't they? Why do I get the feeling that they may have booked a few Buckle Up acts that didn't have room in the tour schedule for the later fest?

anyone else getting really sick of the hints? forecastle has already announced its lineup and it's way later. I have limited concert funds & I'm annoyed that as bunbury makes me wait, the other options get more and more expensive. stupid. makes me think they got nothin

They said this week that the full lineup is being announced feb 26th, so we can all sit quietly until then instead of getting hints. When you think about it, Promowest took over the show a few short months ago so that's why the lineup is being delayed. They clearly needed time to take over all the operating procedures and start contacting bands. If they had taken over earlier, they would be further down the road on getting the lineup released. Just my thoughts.

Hope this is Jamestown Revival. I'm digging what I've heard.
