Who else is completely pumped by this lineup!?!
After last year, I was thinking "Welp, it was fun while it lasted..."
I was very nervous to see this year's lineup, especially after I was somewhat underwhelmed by many of the other festivals in comparison to other years. But Bunbury hit a grand slam, I think. The headliners are fantastic (yeah, its no Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam, or Foo Fighters) but for the size and age of this festival, this may be the best lineup out there. Firefly in Delaware is the same age... COME ONE BUNBURY, lets move it in that direction! I understand there is size constraints for Bunbury (60,000ish, if I am correct, for the weekend last year) and Firefly had 80,000 for the weekend. We can make em fit!
Just excited. Looks like it will be a good weekend!

Looks like it will be a good weekend! I am beyond excited. I thought we'd be lucky to get The Decemberists as a headliner and maybe WTM or 21 Pilots. But to also get Bleachers, Manchester, Brand New, OCMS...it's like they went ahead and booked everyone's favorite mid level band at once. Snoop isn't my thing but I can totally appreciate the crowd he's going to bring and the overall appeal he adds. Last year I spent too much time trying to tell people who these bands were and convince them they'd like it...this year they are texting me to tell me. Pretty awesome. I also shared that thought of "this was fun while it lasted" last year. I feel like this year I can brag to everyone that I've been all four years.

They way I look at it last year was the last year for the old Bunbury. With Promo West taking over I am officially calling this the first annual Bunbury. I hope 4 years from now they are bringing in Paul MaCartney.

I was actually really excited when I heard that Promo West was taking over. Whenever I look where bands that I actually want to see are playing, Columbus is always on the list. Cincinnati rarely makes the cut even though it is a larger metro area than Columbus. I think Promo West and the venues they operate are a big reason for that. I was hoping that would carry over to Bunbury, and it seems like it has.
I think they did a great job with the lineup this year, especially when you consider the circumstances. They took over in mid-December and pulled together this lineup in 2 months. And, by the way, accelerated it by a whole month to miss the MLB All Star Game. While I've never planned a music festival before, I can't imagine that was an easy feat to pull off.
Speaking of Firefly... that lineup is ridiculous, IMO. Between this year's lineup and last year's, that festival has to be considered among the "big boys" (Lolla, Bonnaroo, Coachella, ACL, etc.) now. . I mean... Modest Mouse is in the 3rd row of the billing behind 3 music legends (Snoop Dogg, Morrissey, and the only living Beatle not named Ringo). Really!?! I hope Bunbury can get there in a few years... but wow. The people behind that festival have done an amazing job building it from nothing over the past 4 years.

To be fair, they had a pretty great lineup to begin with. I mean their first year they had The Killers, The Black Keys, and Jack White as headliners

They've been able to keep the same quality year after year and have just built on the quantity. It actually sounds like a fantastic model for Promo West to follow for Bunbury over the next few years...

I've gone to the previous 3 Bunbury festivals, but I can honestly say that I haven't been as excited about the line-up as this year's. Just superb. And to think this is going to happen in our city! Just amazing.
