I read somewhere that they had 46,000 people total this year. Isn't that down about 10,000 from last year? Is that still considered a success? I mean, they could have made more money anyway but I'm just wondering how they feel about it. If that is indeed true I would like to know why 10,000 decided not to go this year but wanted to go last year. That lineup last year was complete shit compared to this years. Unless it was that they thought it was run poorly or they were soured due to the rain last year that is mind boggling if that is indeed the case. Just food for thought though...Bonnaroo is tracking to do about 55-60k this year I've been reading (I'm sure if they post about it they will drastically exaggerate that number), so to think that Bunbury may have pulled in CLOSE to what Bonnaroo draws with less everything. That's a huge success if you ask me.

Funkymoses, it's your subjective view that last year's lineup was "complete shit" compared to this year's. I feel quite differently, and I suspect lots of other people felt likewise, and surely one of the reasons that there were 10,000 less people overall at bunbury this year.
Not a single day sold out this year (daily capacity of 20,000).
As to Bonnaroo, you have it completely mixed up. The 'Roo gets 60K or more EACH DAY, so a total of $180K, give or take. I went to Bonnaroo 5 years in a row (2006-2010) and one of the reasons why I stopped going is because it became monstrously huge. I think in 2010 they were are close to 75-80K EACH DAY.
So to put in perspective: Bunbury is about (but not quite) 1/3 of Bonnaroo's attendance.

I read Bunbury had 56k last year but 10k fewer this year. Those are not verified numbers to my knowledge, just what I read in articles. In any case, it didn't feel like the crowds were small in any way to me.

My guess is they pulled in more cash this year by going cashless. I know last year, we only brought so much cash and rattled through it on beer and food quicker than we expected. Many booths didn't accept credit cards (how we generally pay for things day to day) and we don't use debit/ATM cards, so Sunday night with our last $8, we were forced to pick between food, water, or beer. haha
Having top up stations and being able to use your credit card to add funds likely increased the amount people spent by not having to carry cash to pay for most things.

Last year had some really awesome undercards that I missed this year.

I guess it's mostly based on taste. None of the headliners did anything for me but the next few lines I would probably lean towards 2015 instead of 2016. I can probably nitpick both. (I didn't end up going because I already had tickets to Bonnaroo the following weekend). I guess my main thought initially is that I would think The Killers, Flo and Deadmau5 would bring in more people compared to Snoop, Black Keys and Avett Bros. When we were kind of batting around names that were available for the weekend that could have been on the undercard I think they certainly missed out on a few of really good opportunities this year that's for sure.

That last sentence is completely accurate. I definitely think there were other bands that could have probably pulled more people in. I feel like Santigold was one of them. She would have fit perfectly into the Saturday vibe of funky/hip hop.

-I didn't get a chance to write anything last week but I had a great time and VIP was 150% better than last year. More room at Sawyer point and private bathrooms down there. Food in the tent and the bracelets worked really well. Nobody was too rude about pushing their way to the front until Florence but overall it was great time.
-I wonder who they will get to headline next year. They have had two years of pretty big names at the top of the lineup so I wonder if there will be a drop off.

Two out of the 3 headliners were names that were hitting the festival scene pretty hard last year and are now doing some of the smaller ones (Bunbury, Firefly, etc.) so I think that's a good place to start. And then probably whoever is booked high on the Gov's Ball lineup since the Killers came from that one. For some reason, even though his album flopped, I have this feeling they will reach out to Macklemore for sure. He barely played any festivals this past year and he won't end up having a new album by this time next year so I'm sure he will do shows here and there just to do them to make some side $$$.

Merch told me they would be avail after the festival twice, but still havent seen anything. I believe the same thing happened last year and then they never released it online. I'm going to go through a means of getting a print done here at work for it but I honestly have zero clue why they don't sell them online. People don't want to buy them at the festival and then have them get bent and stuff like that. It's pretty silly.

He is SO BREATH-Y. All I can hear is him breathing in before every line he sings.

Random question...
Anyone remember which band had the shirt that said "Rock & Roll Forever God Dammit"? I can't think of it, and I've tried the merch links for nearly every band on their website.
