Overall, this was the best year that I have been to but I wanted to shed light on some things
Pros: -In general, great artist selection -Craft beer village had great choices -Food trucks were pretty fast even during super busy times -Weather was great (the rain was really a blessing on friday to be honest) -Security was fast and painless -Very nice/friendly crowd during ever set other than Post
Cons -Post malone fans absolutely ruined Sunday night at Sawyer Point -The (presumable group) of people who were stealing phones from people at the Sawyer Point Stage around Coheed/Post set. Saw roughly 10-20 people mention getting their phones stolen -Capacity of the river stage -Vocals nearly impossible to hear on river stage unless you were directly in the middle -Repeaters are needed for the main stages at night -The bottleneck by the beer and snapple table is horrible
Also, while I am not the biggest fan of Black Pistol Fire and Coheed, ever single fan and band member is due an apology from the middle school and high school kids camping out for Post that sat down and booed during their sets.

Pretty much what I would say as well. It seems more and more that everyone is in agreement with Sawyer Point needs to be the Main Stage. I was really disappointed I wasn't able to see Sir Sly because of how overflowing the River Stage was and the sound wasn't great up top. But that bottle neck situation was sooooooo bad. There were times where we stood for 5 mins without moving (I think some of that has to do with people understanding that it needs to be 50/50 and not 90/10 on people going one direction or the other. But unfortunately, I don't know how you really can remedy that.

It seemed like there is kind of a garden of sorts behind that main beer tent though. I wasn't sure if they would want people going through there or if they could somehow rework that. or even bring in like a moveable bridge of something even. I think they will use the same booking methods going forward because of the success they had so they hopefully will make a few minor tweaks to the layout to accommodate that.

Cons:
- Friday afternoon / evening, they had the other trail closed off (the one near the river with all the bathrooms) which made that bottleneck even worse. We ended up going through the garden at a few points, which I felt slightly bad about.
- For as much crap we're giving Post fans, it's still unprofessional for Coheed to cut out early. I enjoyed the last 30ish of their set from afar.
- The big acts booked at the river stage (Bishop Briggs and Sir Sly) had too big of a following for that stage. Sir Sly was especially overcrowded.
- They did a good job getting restarted Friday after the rain, but the notifications on new set times were late out.
Pros:
- The music. I enjoyed so many acts every day. Hard pass on chainsmokers and Post, but if that sells tickets and allows them some extra cash for this type of card, it's an easy sacrifice to make. I don't think there was a day this year where I enjoyed less than 3-4 acts, and that has to be a first.
- Craft beer selection seemed better this year. More variety. Also, the beer vendors that go through the crowd, you are the unsung heroes.
- There was some grumbling about the lack of opposing acts (esp after Blink cancelled) but I only had to cut 2 acts short, and the spaced out schedule really helps for bathroom / beer breaks.
Probably my favorite bunbury in the 7 years I've gone.

Probably my favorite bunbury in the 7 years I've gone. I think the River Stage needs to be limited to local acts or the super smaller bands. It's an awesome place to chill but it's dangerous with a lot of people. The beer vendors were awesome! I was amazed they made it through the crowd. I happily tipped. As far as the notifications, I would point to the cell service as the culprit here. I got notifications from the Bunbury app immediately.

• The beer men and women were amazing. Man did that make life so much easier. • The music was great • The river stage is always a pain I feel. I hate when I see an artist I really want to see on that stage. I love it for the view, not for the music. Definitely needs to be smaller artists than say Sir Sly.

How is it 2018 and festivals still don't bring in sponsored WiFi for festival goers to use. You would think making it easy for people to post on social media about the time they are having would help drive future ticket sales (the day passes or next years). Hotspots should be an easy thing to implement.

Hotspots should be an easy thing to implement. Honestly, VIP WiFi was shit anyway. It didn't seem to work half the time anyway. It definitely only worked if you were right at the stage areas. I just turned my WiFi off. I don't know how that stuff works, but I would imagine that if they can't get it together for that small sector of people, I'm not sure how they'd improve on it for the whole festival. Although it wasn't like the password was super secret, I'm sure lots of other people were using it too.

Can anyone give me a fairly in depth analysis of the VIP?
What kind of food is there? What time(s) did food come? Was food different than the food trucks? How cheap were drinks? What beer was available? How are the bathrooms lines?
Based on a 3 day pass being $180 and vip being $450, the difference is $270
If you spent $10/meal for 2 meals, that's $60 for food over the weekend. SAVINGS = $60
$3 VIP beer x 8 beers a day x 3 days = $72 $7 VIP beer x 8 beers a day x 3 days = $168 SAVINGS = $96
$270 - $60(food) - ($96 beer) = $114
Truthfully, that doesn't seem bad to pay about $40/day more for preferred viewing areas. I guess it all comes down to how badly you want a good spot for artists

I spend half of the festival watching different bands with various friend groups. When the wife and I did VIP, it was almost like we were missing out in the festival experience with all of our different friends!

VIP consistently ran out of food. You had to get there within 20 minutes of food being offered to get anything, even though PromoWest sent an email with 90 minute time slots. I complained (With pictures) 4 times to Bunbury via Facebook and Twitter and they ignored it every time.
During the Friday rain delay, a security guard bribed a group of teens with VIP access to get them to evacuate during the storm. I'm not sure why security was giving away gifts for following safety instruction. This group of approximately five individuals had the front corner (the best spot) for the biggest acts on Sawyer Point.
The lack of food coupled with loose enforcement of who is allowed in the VIP are really took away from the experience. If there's not free food and not exclusive access to a close viewing area, then what is the point? I've bought VIP for three years in a row now, but will probably not do so in the future.

I agree that there were definitely some cons (enter the food situation in VIP), but overall a very good festival. I know people may not like the Chainsmokers or their music, but you can't say they didn't put on a good show. At least it was high energy and entertaining.
As far as VIP - I feel like they let more people in this year than in years past. We too have bought VIP for the past 3 years but this year seemed much more crowded. Food is delivered in 3 time slots throughout the day for 1.5 hours each, although as mentioned, the food ran out quickly. Cheap drink prices and closer viewing areas, and let's not forget the air conditioned (nicer) bathrooms, are definitely worth the additional money.

You got an email with the windows? We were never sure when it was coming out, but we must have gotten lucky each day because we never had a problem. Well, I guess by Sunday we figured out food came out at 5....but we weren't sure about the other times. What time was the lunch food out? We never hit that one.

I guess it all comes down to how badly you want a good spot for artists I had low expectations for the food honestly, but we were pleasantly surprised. Contrary to the other poster, we never had a problem with it running out but we must just have gotten lucky with when we showed up. Friday there were burgers, dogs, and brats with various side salads. Saturday was a taco bar type deal, Sunday was bbq pulled pork and pulled chicken. They had various snacks (chips, pretzels, etc) each time I think and there were always desserts at the end. The friggin' brownies man....SO good. I think the food went out at 5 and then again at 9. Not sure about when it went out for lunch or if it was the same food or not. To us, when you break it down that way, it was NO QUESTION worth an extra 40ish bucks a day to have that viewing area. If in other years there are fewer abutting set times and we feel more compelled to stay at one stage for a while, it may not hold quite as much value. But to be able to walk from one stage to the other, have time to hit the restrooms, grab food/drink, and still find a great view without having to push through crazy amounts of people all while not having to miss most, if not all, of a set we wanted to see....totally worth it. I didn't see anything with regard to lax security, either. One chick tried to hop into the patio area at one point and was IMMEDIATELY shut down. I didn't even think there was anyone around, but they came out of the woodwork. Also when crowd surfers floated up, they were right on it as well. I was very pleased with the whole thing. Oh...and bathroom lines? Nonexistent. The ONLY time I waited was over at the Sawyer Point stage. There are only 2 stalls in there and after a set, the line got a little longer. We stayed after YTG finished and I think I waited maybe 5 minutes?

I know there was discussion about there being lockers available to GA in years past, but I didn't see any around. Saw a charging station, but not lockers. I may just have missed them....but it was SO helpful to have that all weekend and to have it in such a convenient location!

Sun was BBQ pulled pork and chicken with slaw and mac n cheese. There's a little desert each day, with chips n stuff too. I don't drink, but I know Red Bulls are $2 each. For me, the AC in the tent, the real bathrooms, and the ability to get on the rail easily for most acts make it worth it for me. There are also things like locker included throughout the weekend, chips anytime at Sawyer Point, deodorant, shades, sun screen, water bottles, etc.

Pros: -The artists playing were good I thought. The booking overall was solid. Like one user above said, I think every year (I started bunbury in 2015) there was a day where I didn’t give a shit about anyone but one of the headliners. Not this year, I saw more acts than I ever had and had a blast because of it. -This sub! Having these boards has made me ten times more excited for bunbury. I always was kept up to date and entertained up through the time of the fest so shoutout to you guys. Hope to keep it going through the offseason. (Special shoutout to mysticnarwhal for educating me on Incubus) -Vendors were quick and delicious -Beer was great and summer shandy is incredibly refreshing -So much free stuff which is great -Water stations as well as beer booths were well placed Cons -Maybe a little too much moving around -vendors weren’t clear whether or not they were only doing cash or were accepting cards, bit me in the ass a couple times -A couple clueless security workers -Trendy young ladies STOP GETTING ON YOUR BOYFRIENDS SHOULDERS that almost ruined Foster the people for me luckily some more daring people started throwing beer cans at the group of girls who were blocking everyones view -Yes Post Malone fans did suck but you knew that. I think Bonnaroo has a clever system on clearing the front before shows
Overall I had really fun, will be back for year 5!

Was my 4th straight year attending all 3 days, and I think this is up there with 2016 as my favorite.
Pros
1. The lineup. Like others have said, this year was stacked. There were 4 bands everyday I was excited to see. 2. Having Post play directly in front of Jack White. I went to the bathroom and grabbed a beer after Dropkick and came back and got 10th row. 3. Beer lines. Never waited more than 2 minutes. 4. Push notifications on the app. I was made aware of the Royal Blood change without having to pull up the app. 5. Lines to get in were very reasonable.
Cons
1. Not updating the Friday schedule until noon on Friday. That was bogus. 2. The food lines were ridiculous everyday.. 3. The girl that almost yacked on me. 4. The dude who pulled out his phone and videotaped every Jack White song.nothing like just seeing a phone in front of you for half the set. 5. The river stage was a shit show. Got to Sir Sly 45 minutes early and barely got a seat on the left side.
Overall, I loved it. Here are my Top 10 performances
1. Misterwives 2. Foster 3. Jack White 4. Royal Blood 5. The Wrecks 6. Andrew McMahon 7. Dropkick Murphys 8. Sir Sly 9. Incubus 10. Fitz Honorable Mentions - Manchester Orchestra, Welshly Arms, Third Eye Blind, Magic Giant
Artists I missed cause set times and pregaming- Bishop, Tall Heights, Moonbeau, Black Pistol Fire

Pros:
- I agree on the lineup. Every day had several acts that I wanted to see, although the Bishop Briggs / Royal Blood conflict hurt. - Beer lines were great and Braxton brought a great lineup of beers that were light and flavorful enough to drink in the heat. - The Sawyer Point stage remains the best place to watch a show in the park. - The 15% discount for Blink cancelling. I know not everyone loved that but I was able to convince my wife to spring for 2019 VIP because of it!
Cons:
- River Stage. I missed Sir Sly altogether because of how crowded it can get there. - The pro life march on Sunday across the Purple People Bridge. This made me miss Two Feet and I thought I had it timed perfectly to get down there in time for him. - The food lines were out of control unless you ate at off hours. - My own dumb self forgetting to bring my shorts to change into after work on Friday...I left from the office and my jeans were just awful that day.

I relate so hard on a lot of these posts.
As a bump -- I made the plunge for VIP this year. Seeing how great the angles were last year, I felt like I had to, and the price is fair. There are festivals that charge double for VIP and offer less.

A little late but whatever.
Pros:
-First time at the festival was overall great! -Even without VIP, it was easy to get about 20ft away from both main stages (practically up front for Royal Blood) -Everyone at the festival was really awesome. -The Chainsmokers blew me away and made me like EDM.
Cons:
-The proximity of the bathrooms. -Dickhead Post Malone fans ruining Black Pistol Fire's set. -People who took up a whole square of space. -People who threatened to fight you (this actually happened when I tried to get back to my friend b4 Jack White came on) if u passed them.

My friends and I came specifically for Coheed and were very disappointed in the way Post fans reacted. Thankfully we found some nice kids who let us have their spots right up front as long as we promised to move when Coheed finished. I hope things are different this year!
