Well....here we go again. I asked my source and he said Promowest got the work about 20 minutes before Blink posted that. Now they’re going all hands on deck to try to get someone else before the reveal but it’s not looking promising

I’m a huge fan and I totally expected it because of Travis’ health. What makes it worse is they’re still playing the other festival they booked

What a joke. Canceling because of health reasons is completely understandable. Canceling a second time, after promising everyone you'd be there next year to make up for it because of studio time, despite the fact that you've known about this festival for half a year? Laughable and disgusting.

I’d bet a lot of it is on Travis and his fear of flying. Granted it’s warranted, but stupidly shitty. “WE CAN MAKE MORE MONEY THIS WAY, GUYS!” Lost my respect. Disgustingly pathetic.

Sitting in my room trying to think of what Blink-182 could possibly be recording in the year 2019 that’s important enough to cancel on a festival for a second year in a row

Always loved Blink, but this is the third time they've bailed in a year. No excuse for this one, not this late in the game. Fuck them. I feel bad for Promowest, a lot of people seemed to think they waited til right before the lineup reveal to release this info on pupose. Obviously we know that's not true but it gives the fest a bad image.

Not the festival's fault (timing or cancellation itself) but from the outside it very much reads as "sell as many early bird tickets as possible before revealing it"

That's honestly what I would think if I were not on here with an insider look. PromoWest was honestly trying to attract fans to help make their festival successful and were trying to make good on the promise from last year. They ended up looking bad last year because of the last second cancellation, although the fest did end up selling out. But now their image is further tainted after Blink cancelled on them for the 3rd time in less than a year. This has to be a burden for them, not just for the image, but also for the PW team to have to handle the logistics of refunding tickets (for the Columbus show and Friday passes), re-working the schedule and posters last year, booking a replacement act with little notice and many suitable replacements already committed to other shows that weekend, and then re-configure the posters and all the prepared promotions for a lineup drop later in the week. That has to have a financial impact on PW.

Screw it, Promowest should hit up Joywave - they seemed willing to play last year when this same thing happened haha

We have the Bunbury 2018 poster at our place and seeing blink on there just pisses you off every time you see it

I'm sure they had everything ready to go.

Blink's terrible anyway now. Frees up a lot of money for another headliner. I was stoked when I saw the news lol.

Except the fact that they won't have time to book anyone good. They have plenty of time. Maybe not by tomorrow for the initial release, but they can always announce a replacement at a later dates. Happens all the time with festivals, especially 4+ months in advance. Hell Coachella lost two of their headliners in the month ahead of the release(including 1 less than 24 hours before) and they still announced their full lineup on time.
