Been seeing lots of people say they are skipping out this year. Wanted to see how many people were going.

I purchased 3-day passes right away this year after swearing it off last year. Probably will still go since I really think this might be the last year for the festival.

As the best talent scout of the last 20 years says, "that's gonna be a no for me dawg"

Nope. Right now I'm doing the Young the Giant, Fitz and the Tantrums and COIN festival show and Forecastle. Wonderbus Festival pending lineup.
May also spring for Queen last minute if I'm feeling frisky.
If they could somehow get Run the Jewels and Girl Talk on the Saturday, then I would consider one day tickets to Bunbury.

Nope, not planning on it right now. Presently the plan is Forecastle, Young & Fitz in Indy, Florence in Chicago, hopefully WonderBus pending lineup, and I'll also be keeping an eye on that new fest down in Lexington.

I'm on the fence still. This festival is the highlight of my summer. The wife and I moved to within walking distance of Bunbury. I've been to every single one and would hate to break the streak.
We'll end up going, I'm sure. Maybe on a single day ticket. We are trying like hell to win tickets from contests or find a volunteer option that isn't picking up trash (like working a beer booth).

I've come in from Chicago the last four years... it's been the best weekend of the summer in each instance. I have no desire to go this year.

Just asking for a friend, what if you signed up to volunteer and then just didn't do it once you were inside? I assume they would blacklist you for any years after?

I came really close to volunteering at Bellwether last year. Might this year, if I can. I assume they have a way of making sure only those that actually "help out" come back. Ha

I'm still going. It's worth it for me personally just for Fall Out Boy, and I'm not going to go for a single day...if I'm going at all I'm just keeping my 3-day early bird tickets.

I'm officially not going, and it makes me sad. Bunbury has been my summer vacation and one of the highlights of my year for the past 4 years. My GF and I are going to Vampire Weekend at Summerfest grounds the weekend after Bunbury. Pretty pumped about that. In April, we are seeing Elle King and Squirrel Nut Zippers on consecutive days. I'm going to AFI/Noel Gallagher/Pumpkins solo. It's looking like a relatively lean concert year for me.

All we have planned is twenty one pilots (got free GA floor tickets), third eye blind/jimmy eat world, john mayer, and black keys/modest mouse.

Just asking for a friend, what if you signed up to volunteer and then just didn't do it once you were inside? I assume they would blacklist you for any years after? I worked with the volunteers last year and they honestly have no record of where you are at any given time. They are constantly finding the trash bags and those pick up claws just laying around from being abandoned and they aren't even sure who left it behind. If they do know it was you, they'll kick you out and not let you back in without a ticket. The easier route is to do what most of the trash collectors do: pick up garbage for 15 minutes, then go pretend to pick up trash near the stage of bands you like and look busy when other volunteers come by. If you really want to coast, just go to the nurse and say you feel light-headed from the heat and hang out in the medical tent and charge your phone for 4 hours.
