Somebody over on inforoo mentioned that whoever played Stage AE in Pittsburgh the week before headlined Friday night at Nelsonville. At least the past two years anyway. Might not mean anything.

It's possible, but if Vampire Weekend might be a bit of a stretch for Nelsonville as far as a headliner goes. Biggest they've landed is Death Cab for Cutie, and Vampire Weekend is typically quite a bit higher up on lineups than Death Cab.

WHOA!!! That might get me over the fence to Nelsonville I think I am in the minority that actually hopes Bunbury DOESN'T get Vampire Weekend or The Strokes It would be a nice pickup for the festival... I am not going to be disappointed, nor would it excite me all that much. I just have not given either band a good solid listen to really have formed an opinion, outside of whats popular by them.

I got really into Vampire Weekend recently. Not into The Strokes much at all outside of listening to Last Nite a lot when it came out.
Oh, and playing Reptilia in Rock Band.

WHOA!!! That might get me over the fence to Nelsonville I think I am in the minority that actually hopes Bunbury DOESN'T get Vampire Weekend or The Strokes I'm also in this camp. VW does nothing for me at all. And I liked The Strokes First Impressions of Earth album but their overall catalog isn't really my cup of tea. Also I saw that Hall and Oates announced a new tour and they are going to be on the West Coast during Bunbury so we miss out on them for the 100th year in a row.

I know we are harping it to death and that they don't care at all so it's whatever, but imagine if an establish festival that does hints every year (let's take Bonnaroo for example) just decided one year to do clues but do it so sporadic and with no rhyme or reason that there was almost a week in between clues. The people that generally go every year and expect them to do them would crush them for that. I still can't wrap my mind around why you'd even bother doing them in the first place if you weren't going to at least put the smallest of effort into it.

I know the pendulum swings back and forth constantly on whether people hate them or it's annoying to say you hate them, but I hate them. Biggest douche rockers of all time.

Chances Bunbury decided two hints is good enough for the year?
Alessia Cara and IDKHBTFM are headlining confirmed.

I'm completely neutral on most of the bands people in this forum tend to root for, like Vampire Weekend. I recognize they'd be a good grab for Bunbury in the 4-5th slot, and I'd probably check them out at a festival, but I'm not going to get excited. Nickelback is being teased by Riverbend so if you're not a fan you're probably safe. I would LOVE to see Bright Eyes stop here.

What if the lack of communication is because PW knows the lineup will sell out, and they want as little ticket movement prior to the price bump as possible?

That's definitely a lineup that would sell out without much hyping it up.

Yungblud just announced a US tour. Hitting Promowest venues in Columbus and Pittsburgh, ends at Hangout Fest May 16. I thought he was a good guess for Bunbury but he's back in Europe after that. He's open June 6-7, though so who knows.

But wouldn't you want to sell out your festival early? Doesn't that look better as far as marketing goes? If I'm Bunbury and I booked a lineup that costs 4x last year's and know it will sell out when it drops, I am totally fine waiting for the lineup to drop so we can sell it out at the higher price tickets. If its a great lineup, it will sell itself.

I'd think if they had any plan to do fewer this year, they wouldn't have released the first two, two days apart, then given us silence. This is just weird.

MCR has a Germany date now in July, hoping they’re in the US in June If I'm looking at the right thing, that's an open air venue that holds 10,000 people. Seems bizarre to do a 30,000 person stadium in the UK, 20,000 person festival in Australia/Japan (and potentially here), a 10,000 person headliner in Germany. What the heck. Note that the Germany show is not confirmed by the band but it was on a poster in Bonn that has other confirmed concerts for the same venue, and a friend over there told me it was briefly on a ticketing website but taken down.

I'm telling you guys, something is going on regarding the lineup over at Promowest. Once whatever is happening blows over, I should be able to get details from my source. Still radio silence from them so far.
