I do VIP every year just because the drink prices are half and it really is a deal compared to other festivals but I will say that they increased prices this year by a buck which stunk. The food was improved. I know someone else complained about it running out but it has been worse before. The only other thing that bugged me was that people camped out on the furniture all weekend. I usually never sit there long but it was never open and the same people seem to always be there. Nothing the festival can do about that, it just annoyed me.

VIP is always a cash grab everywhere. VIP at Bunbury is still far and away the best VIP value in the country. Most fests would charge $1,000+ for a weekend to get access to front stage in VIP. That alone makes VIP incredible to me. Add in $4 booze, some “freebies”, and AC’d bathrooms, and I’m in. I just wish GA couldn’t get in so easily is all. I mean, for $420ish, I saw 19 acts. That’s $22.10 per band. As close as I was, that’s nothing. Seeing a headliner up close at a concert can cost several hundred dollars depending on who it is, and it doesn’t have a festival atmosphere. VIP at Bunbury is the same price-per-day as GA elsewhere, I think it's worth it for the bathrooms alone. But I agree. One of my friends with GA went through the VIP line at the metal detectors because nobody was waiting and they gave her a VIP bracelet without looking at her ticket when she said she had 3-Day even though she didn't try to claim she was VIP. Another person showed a friend's order confirmation (who was already in) and got the "wrong" bracelet switched out for a VIP one. And then a bunch of people were just walking in.
