I haven't had a chance to give a really good listen to all, but the small bit that i checked out so far I feel definitely has potential.

I'm enjoying Bear Hands. I heard one of their songs on Sirius XMU last night, and have been listening to them today. I really like their new album. "Distraction"

Mainly because they played Bunbury last year (at least scheduled to), but where buried DEEP on the list and I didn't get over to see them.... and I've heard a song or 2 since on xmu/alt nation. GOOD STUFF

I'm not the biggest J Roddy Walston fan, though I've ended up seeing them twice now. Once because The Features opened up for him and once because he was playing at Summerfest in Columbus last year.
Don't Break the Needle is the one J Roddy song that I do kind of like though. He puts on a decent show and draws a pretty good crowd. His stuff just doesn't translate as well for me on studio recordings.

GOOD STUFF I forgot they played last year. They were on that little stage as far away from the main stage as you can get. And they were playing the same time as Cake, which is one of my all time favorite bands, so I wasn't going to make that one. I look forward to hopefully catching them this year.

I actually went back and looked at last year's lineup to compare with last year Forecastle. That's when I noticed Bear Hands. I was pissed at myself for missing out. Then I saw where they played (and up against). Haha Yeah, his call on J Roddy too. I have liked what I have heard, but kinda "meh". Don't break the needle was really good though

Minor is impressive too
Listening to "Hey Love" right now, but I think there was another pretty good one too.

If any of you have a taste for classic country, Lydia Loveless is really good. She's got a nice classic sound to her voice. She's actually headlining a show at Southgate House on Friday for like $8. I might check her out.

I'm a bit north of Dayton so it's tough for me to get to dine of those shows, but I saw Manchester Orchestra a few months ago, and going to see David Bazan (living room show) next month. I'm even liking a lot of the "local talent". I've seen Red Wanting Blue a few times, but never listened to recordings. "White snow" is pretty solid. The Upset Victory "actions" is sweet, but I have a soft spot for that genre/style. I know most don't care for it though. Ha Pluto Revolts just had a good one too.... "collisions", I think

Yikes...not a big fan of "do it again" by Holy Ghost!
I had high expectations for them (listed so high on the lineup). I hope their other stuff is much better

I think I saw you post about them somewhere else and I "took note" of their name . I hope they have a good time slot so I can check them out. If this lineup keeps up the solid showing up...I'll have some DIFFICULT DECISIONS to make

This is my opinion from what I've heard. I put all the headliners in must see just because they are headliners and I don't think anyone else will be playing.
Flaming Lips, FOB, Paramore, Foxy Shazam, Fitz and the Tantrums, Young The giant - must sees
Used to fill my time in between the acts above - x ambassadors, The Orwells, J Roddy Walston & The Business, Syd Arthur, Robert DeLong, Wild Cub, Kishi bashi, Bear hands
Considering you can usually catch about 4 or 5 full shows a day I hope they spread out the must sees so I can catch 2 a day. If one of the days is loaded it leaves a lot of filler bands on another days.

Some of these undercard/unknown bands are BRINGING IT though! I'm exited

Looks like some on the other post have figured out the big headliner secret. ;p

Already a couple nasty little conflicts... and Snowmine is one of them. They are playing in Columbus on April 8th though for $10. I may go to that to free myself up to hit either Royal Teeth (wish I would have went to their show recently). I really like The Upset Victory at the same timeslot too.

I saw Snowmine when they played MPMF last September. It was one of the VERY BEST sets of the festival. Def worth your time to check them out in C-bus if you have a conflict at Bunbury.

Yeah, I am debating on a couple different shows like that. I have tickets to the CD102.5 Side B show that I was going to sell or just not go, but I also have a conflict with Morning parade/Hunter Hunted/Pluto Revolts. AND Morning Parade will be at the Side B show....so, that may work itself out too.
