@bdonabedian: After 7am tomorrow, I won't get any more questions about the Bunbury lineup. #BeeFree
TOTALLY unrelated, I just read an article where Modest Mouse is announcing a tour soon. Hey, I can hope can't I.

MM just announced a new tour this evening, specifically mentioning North America as their tour area. And it appears they are doing some festivals. Maybe more tour dates to be announcement tomorrow? Hmmm... For what it's worth, the evidence for Soundgarden has been mostly circumstantial around what some insiders have said and their lack of a tour date announcement thus far on the same weekend as Bunbury. No disrespect to these insiders, however we don't have a lot of proof that they are who they say they are. On can hope!

MM would probably be much more suited with the rest of the current lineup.

I'm still saying it's SoundGarden....but hoping like hell it's not.
Modest Mouse would be pretty badass though...and the tour announcement upcoming for MM is "convenient"
**fingers crossed**

Just got a heads up on two bands being announced tomorrow and neither of them are Soundgarden or Nine Inch Nails. Unfortunately I can't sell out the source or they may not be a source to me in the future. Feel free to speculate though. I'm pretty sure neither one have been mentioned in speculation unless I have missed them.

Haven't seen them do much in a while. Colin Meloy has been doing solo stuff for a while.

This is the last narrowing it down I will do since the announcement is only eight hours away. And I really don't want to piss off the person who entrusted me with the info.
But the two bands I have heard are not anyone mentioned in this thread so far. There are definitely two bands that I know of.
I think one of them will make some people on this board happy. The other I don't personally know very well, so I don't know what kind of fanbase they have.

Haha I guess we'll know in 8hrs Just rereading.... Joel did say they weren't mentioned in this thread. Not too many named in here, but a lot in the other thread about the lineup. As long as it's not SoundGarden and/or NIN I'm good....but wound like a really good band. Ha

It's my opinion, and this I am not in the know on... But I think Soundgaden was probably going to be the third headliner. They were all set to announce all three headliners on the initial lineup announcement day based on their own marketing and the posters they used at the lineup events the night before. I'm guessing Soundgarden had to back out because of the tour with Nine Inch Nails and Bunbury had to scramble to find a new headliner.

Hhmmm, I guess it could be Manchester Orchestra and Kevin Devine. I'd be happy(ish). Just saw Manchester a couple months ago....and they are playing Cincy soon, I think. Doesn't make a lot sense, but if something went bad....maybe they did have to scramble. Not sure Manchester as headliner though. I would think they would still pull a bigger "name"

Foo Fighters would be cool...but only 1 show in the books for them, doen't seem they are touring.
Heavily rumored band on announcement day, vampire weekend, could still be in play.
I'm also interested in smallpools being announced, but then seemingly disappeared.
The suspense is killing me, but I gotta go to bed. Ha

Never trust an "inside" source is the lesson learned.
Empire of the Sun Cage the Elephant Dead Sara
Hope nobody bought tickets based on the speculation that Soundgarden was going to play.

BWA HA Honestly, I think SoundGarden WAS the band at/near the announcement parties...etc I think something happened... IE NIN made them an offer they couldn't refue or something, and then there was a conflict. I don't really see ANY other reason for the delay other than scrambling to fill the spot(s)

Cage the elephant is a nice pick up, but empires doesn't really do anything for me.

While I don't feel the festival got worse with the adds, it didn't win anyone over with making Empire of the Sun the third headliner. So with that, Bunbury has officially lost it. Definitely a patch job just getting who they could for that 3rd slot.
My buddy has an extra ticket to that CD101 day show/s up in Columbus. He just invited me and told me the ticket was only $5.00?!?! The bands playing are pretty cool, kinda Bunbury-ish as well. Has anyone gone to that before? This will make for a nice Bunbury replacement with about zero of the cost. then it will be Roo time!

Side(a) with grouplove did out before I could get tickets, but I got 3 for side (b)
