The only band from Nashville I can think of that would fit with Bunbury is Moon Taxi

Last year, there was a band in the lineup from Nashville called Fly Golden Eagle. They're gonna be at forecastle, and they just released an album.

It's a take off of Van Gogh's Starry Night painting and it's definitely Nashville. Not sure I have a guess yet.

It says "This one's a Star" and has a picture of Nashville.
Nashville Star is a Country music reality show.
In looking through Nashville Star's wiki page, I don't see anybody that I think would be there. The closest thing would be Jewel, who hosted a season of Nashville Star, but I really don't believe it's her. Just trying to play the clue out.

Could they be having some country artists since they're taking a year off Buckle Up? Hope not.

Hate bringing this name anywhere haha. Taylor Swift, living in Nashville, guess you could consider her a star in the industry, has Friday and SUnday open during festival in PA on Saturday. But i surely hope not.

Kings of Leon, Wild Cub, and Wild Feathers are all from Nashville. Not sure if I can relate a "star" to any of them.

What does St Vincent have to do with Nashville? I was confused as to why everyone was guessing this then realized VINCENT Van Gogh.

I swear to god if this is Lone Star, I'm not going to Bunbury. Lone Star is from Nashville and is actively touring festivals this summer. If Promowest thinks they are right for Bunbury, HUGE swing and miss.

Lonestar is terrible. I've seen them live before. I go see a lot of bands, even some that aren't in my wheelhouse, because I can appreciate a good live act even if I don't love their music. Also I was married to a big Country music fan. But if they are entertaining me, I will appreciate it. Hell, Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton still rate up there as two of my favorite shows I've gone to just because they entertained the Hell out of me.
But when I saw Lonestar, it's the closest I ever came to falling asleep at a concert. I've never seen a band stand up there and pretty much just sound like they are playing their studio tracks right off of a CD. No real interaction with the fans. No energy. Just completely dull.
Having said that, I'll believe it's Lonestar when I see it. I don't think they are going to go that far off the grid. Buckle Up wasn't that much of a success last year.

I wouldn't believe it either. I don't think Promowest has a history of booking country concerts.

So we all agree the Nashville aspect is important. And the text makes me think this is a bigger band.
Just a quick search on Nashville Bands:
Kings of Leon - only a few dates this year, nothing past 3/15. Could be Bunbury material Black Keys - highly doubtful, booked in NY on 6/6 and 6/7. I don't see them doing a 6/5 show here. Jack White - Last announced tour date is Coachella, 4/18...might be TOO big. Paramore - I don't see a repeat appearance for this band, but nothing on their tour past 5/15 Old Crow Medicine Show - strong contender considering the folkier bands we are guessing. They seem to be doing some light touring with the closest Bunbury date being June 3rd in Colorado
If we are thinking a big Nashville band, I'm thinking Kings of Leon or Old Crow. I vote for Kings of Leon.
Wishful thinking however!

Here's a list of people and bands from Nashville according to Wikipedia. I'm only listing people that could possibly fit the bill in my opinion. Which means if it's a band I'm not familiar with, I probably skipped over them, so don't take this list as a full list or anything.
The Black Keys (Not originally from Nashville, but based there now) The Civil Wars Kelly Clarkson (doubtful but I'm including her) Sheryl Crow Steve Earle Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn Peter Frampton (Highly doubtful but there is a Cincinnati connection there) Ben folds John Hiatt Kings of Leon Kesha (Ha!) Old Crow Medicine Show Jack White (Also not from Nashville but resides and runs his record company there)
And of course, just because she's on the list.... Miley Cyrus. (lol)

(lol) I think the Black Keys are out based on their Sat/Sun shows in NY. I can't imagine them doing a Friday here and then getting to NY (all their gear) reasonably. I forgot about Ben Folds! That would be a VERY fun show. I'm leaning towards KOL. Just seems so Bunbury.

Not sure how relevant this is, but Kings of Leon do have a star embedded on the Music City Walk of Fame in downtown Nashville. Just trying to piece together the star and Nashville references.

Their first single The Bucket had a lyric about a star as well. That's the only musical connection to star I can think of. They also were supposed to play at Riverbend last year, but had to cancel. Maybe, they are trying to play a show for us to make up for that.

Just bringing this up, but Bob Dylan is a pretty big star who just announced a small tour and has an album titled Nashville City Skyline.
I realize they are different promoters now, but Buckle Up did go with a legend in Willie Nelson as a headliner last year. It's not completely unreasonable. I'm not sure it would be my first guess, but the possibility is out there.

I'm thinking it's Kings of Leon. The "This one's a star" could just indicate that the band referred to by the hint is a headliner (starring) at Bunbury.
The other connection is that their break out album that pushed them into the main stream was "Only by the Night".
Also, with their cancelled show at Riverbend last summer, this might be their way to get back to Cinci.

If it is KOL (big if) and if we were correct about The Avett Brothers (Another big if), those would be two solid headliners. Who knows about these clues though lol? I really want it to be these two bands and purchase my tickets, but I think I have to wait until the lineup is released and am sure who is playing.

I'm hoping it's Kings of Leon, but do want to throw this in there. That image also shows up right on the first line of images if you search starry night city, so I'm not 100% the Nashville connection was on purpose. Another option as I continue to brainstorm is Owl City. He has a song called Shooting Star and seems to be ending his international tour the weekend before.
