yeah it’s not necessarily my favorite festival but it seems like an okay lineup. What I can say is my edm friends say it’s “not bad” and my rap friends are not happy about it It's really just not my niche of music. I don't listen to rap or EDM so I can't really comment on the strength. Haven't people said the crowd is a shit show in the past? oh definitely, worst crowd of all time

The lineup is definitely more top loaded than I would have thought. Getting Halsey, Odesza, Migos, Kaskade and Khalid is pretty solid work by PSG. I feel like the undercard is underwhelming. I don't know anything about rap so I can't speak to that but it seems that in the EDM side of things they stuck to more bass heavy stuff but I did really like that they got Chris Lake, Gryffin and Dombresky yeah it’s not necessarily my favorite festival but it seems like an okay lineup. What I can say is my edm friends say it’s “not bad” and my rap friends are not happy about it I was definitely curious what Rap fans thought. PSG typically does good booking when it comes to acts around town so I'm surprised they don't book a more well rounded festival. I mean their first one was completely stacked compared to what they put out right now with this. Their other city versions of this have drastically worse lineups compared to this so I dunno. I think it's probably that will need to tweak over time in order to get to the level I'm sure they want it at.

I heard its literally just in a parking lot... yeah it’s in a shockingly tiny area actually, it was two stages. One was pretty much your generic headliner stage (think either yeatmans or sawyer point at bunbury, maybe a touch smaller) and the other stage is a really small stage. I’ll try to find a festival map so you can see what I mean

How on earth were they able to get it in the stadium the first year they ran it (even though the lineup was wildly better for a one day festival and they did limit the actual standing space so that they could have an exposed area of grass. And yet now they do it in the parking lot? SO weird. Especially when Rock on the Range is always inside the stadium and has a stage or two on the outside of the stadium as well for a full weekend.

Rock on the Range is a MUCH larger fest. People travel from all around the country for that thing. My friends who enjoy hard rock say that it's one of the biggest hard rock festivals in the United States. That explains why they get big names year after year Breakaway is no where near that widespread popularity

I haven't been to Rock on the Range yet but I love rock music but almost every year I have a wedding on that weekend. I am not overly excited about this years headliners so I opted not to get tickets but based on who is doing albums and rumored to be I think next year I'll need to make it.

It sells out incredibly fast just a heads up. I have never been, but everyone tells me to get the GA stadium seating instead of GA field unless you're looking to get your face bashed in. Look at videos online and you will know what I'm talking about

I might have to snoop around the internet right before the lineup to see if there is a leak so I know to jump on them or not haha. Is there a Rock on the Range board like this? That doesn't surprise me at all about the seating. I think I'll def go the seating route haha. I'd prefer to keep my body intact for the whole weekend.

So I went to Portugal. The Man last night. I think they will a Millenial's Jam Band years from now. In terms of their following and just the way they play. It was a lot of fun. I don't think I was prepared for the types of crowd they bring haha. It was probably the most eclectic crowd I've ever seen. And I've been to Bonnaroo.

When are they going to bring back the "When it sells out we'll tell you who it is" concert series? That was a good time last year.

They've been trying to do that at Bogarts in cincinnati for a couple years now, my bogarts source said they had it all in the works but the tickets weren't selling so they cancelled it (it turns out that the artists were Hippo Campus and someone else pretty good I can't remember who though)

It was J. Roddy and the Business. I wasn't familiar with them but it was a ton of fun. I hope they try it a few more times before giving up on it.

Seems like it always sells really well in Columbus but it's sponsored by CD102.5 radio station so they promote it like crazy on the air

Checking out The Knocks tomorrow night at A&R Music Bar and I am VERY excited Kinda surprised they didn't get booked for Bunbury. They seem like a good river stage act They would have been the classic "booked for the River Stage and then attracts a crowd that completely overtakes the entire walk way between stages trying to get a glimpse of them." They haven't sold out the show tonight which surprises me. I don't think Promowest is promoting the show that well though and you also have COIN and Dillion Francis / Allison Wonderland going on tonight as well so it's a really big night for shows for kind of that section of the musical demographic.

The Knocks were FANTASTIC last night! I was disappointed it didn't get sold out because they are such a good live act. They bring a band so they can perform all their songs and were full of energy. A&R Music Bar is a great venue for acts like that. I really hope they come back soon and get Newport. Could not recommend them enough.

Young the Gian and Fitz and the Tantrums are co-headlining a tour with Coin opening. Its stopping through Columbus and Indy, I'll definitely catch Indy. Both Fitz and Young were phenomenal last year

This is a prime example of the great booking Promowest is capible of (which makes Bunbury’s even more perplexing)

The Lumineers, Death Cab for Cutie, Grouplove, Phantogram, The Revivalists, The Interrupters, Morgxn and more. Again, a radio station can pull this together for a ONE DAY event, Bunbury has no excuses.

I’m not sure what the deal is.

They just say "i dont want to talk about it anymore"

And in regards to the source going silent, I think that's a sign that this lineup is getting a very poor reception and they are struggling.

Just got my Young the Giant tickets. Wildly annoying both GA 1 ($10.25) and GA 2 were already sold out at exactly 10am but $35 to see all three of those bands is still a steal.
I will still never get over charging the price of an additional ticket for “fees” though. $100 for 2 tickets when its all said and done.
