Anyone going to Andrew McMahon tomorrow night in Columbus? The lady and I will be in attendance as of now. There is a slight chance we may have something that prevents that but as of now we are going. Very excited for it!

My source will be there with us tonight if you want to pester them haha If they are willing to talk at all, I guess I'd be interested to know a little more about the logistics of The 1975 booking. I understand they are very big right now, but I'm still so surprised they are there considering there other Cinci date and a "festival setting" show at Express Live. I kind of have a three part question. Im curious to know what the capacity for the festival setting at Express Live is and how the decision is made to utilize it. I would imagine the logistics of putting it together are pretty burdensome and and expensive compared to just using the outdoor stage like normal. I'd also like to know what the response was for The 1975 in 2017. I'd have to believe it was pretty spectacular for them to be backs so soon and that they got a great "bang for their buck" in ticket sales. much like Post Malone. Finally, are there any acts on this year's lineup they expect to fit that Post Malone type role from last year? We've discussed before how he was not technically a headliner, but was easily one of the biggest draws to the festival and it appeared PW booked him at the PERFECT time. I understand if the source no longer wants to talk, they've already provided a GREAT insight into how all of this works, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Sorry, but I neglected to check back on the forum until this morning so I did not see your post. I will try to keep it in mind next time I run into my source. We honestly just talked about the Blue Jackets between sets. There was a Bunbury poster outside the bathroom and when I pointed to it my source shook their head and laughed...so I think that gives you pretty clear insight to how they feel

I totally failed and was at a conference all day yesterday before the concert so I wasn't able to log in so I missed your msg about pestering them whitney! I would have loved to have done that. Where did you guys stand during the show? We were on the right hand side by the pole right around the outer rim where people leave the pit on the side. Great view but I couldn't see the guitarist as much from my view unfortunately. Really liked his set up this time around and Andrew is absolutely a top 10 under rated performer. Insane energy through out the entire set.

Insane energy through out the entire set. We were right in front of the sound board, on the railing just to the right of the stairs leading into the pit. We usually try to get a spot there since my girlfriend is just over 5 feet and can actually see there. THANK GOD Bobby got back in the band. It was a rough few years without the electric guitar properly represented in the band

Haha that is crazy because me and my girlfriend go there and that entire area was already taken up and I was so annoyed because we always try to get that spot! Great minds think alike!

The Black Keys are expected to announce a big US tour within the next week. I'll be surprised if Columbus doesn't get a date.

Either way, I bought tickets during the presale. I wouldn't be surprised if this sells out.

Ok, I'm really happy with the amount of alternative bands touring this summer. Lots of great tours announced already and there are likely more to come. Beck/Cage, Weezer, Vampire Weekend, Young/Fitz, The National, Florence, And The Black Keys, Lumineers, and Arctic Monkeys should be announcing soon too. i'm sure I'm forgetting a lot, but this is shaping up to be a great year for concerts, and a bad one for my wallet.

Call me basic for loving my nostalgic music, but my group is fucking stoked for third eye blind with jimmy eat world in the middle of july. Also, john mayer is swinging through columbus again and that's going to be insane. Anyone that hasn't seen him before...it's a must go. He RARELY plays any songs you hear on the radio, and if he does, it's a completely different version. He is incredible on the guitar

Side note: Twenty one Pilots added Bear Hands to their North America leg of their summer tour. I have tickets to the CBus show on 6/30 and have been waiting to see who they announce as the opener. I've heard the name Bear Hands, but never heard the music. Are they any good? May have to give them a spin today at work.

I'm confident you have heard 1 or 2 of their songs without knowing it's them

Alt 103 here in Indy is teasing two "huge" concerts announcements on Monday which likely means two major tours are being released and could include Columbus. Fairly certain one will be The Black Keys based on what Festive Owl has said. Looking forward to seeing what the other is as well.

I assume they do stadium tours or play 10k-20k person outdoor venues? I shouldn't expect to see them at a 4k-5k person venue?

Just based on the general hype I feel like people give them when they are mentioned I would think they could get good attendance at a big arena show. I actually kind of like their new song.

Both Alt 103 announcements were a letdown. Their birthday show is 311, Dirty Heads and the Interrupters at Ruoff here in Indy which is interesting because Ruoff is a 26k capacity venue, I can't see that lineup pulling nearly enough for that venue. Would have thought it would be at the lawn, which holds 8k. Second show is Shinedown at The Lawn. Disappointing for me because last year their birthday lineup was The Killers, Foster and Sir Sly. Absolutely incredible show.
