this lineup is just not good enough for us. I'm not interested in a rap day with those particular acts or an EDM day pretty much at all (unless it's A-listers like Deadmau5.) The nice thing about larger festivals like Lollapalooza is you can sample those genres and still get your fill of what you like. A regional festival like Bunbury can't over balance like this without having long stretches where there is just nothing many people with 3 day passes will want to see, especially if they stay in the 3 stage config they adopted last year. We thin kwe'll wait until VIP sells out and then put ours up for sale.

Too many rap/hip-hop/EDM for my liking. I am not sure I will attend, which would be my first time not attending Bunbury.
The Enquirer's headline was "Bunbury tending to millenials" or something like that. I am most definitely not a millenial.
If the Shins and DCFC and Muse all play on the same day, I'll prob do a day pass for that.
It's simply amazing to me how this festival has changed so quickly in just a few years.

I can't stand Muse, and the other headliners are of no interest to me. If I liked even one headliner, I would give the rest an honest listen while there, but I just can't see putting that kind of money into a weekend when I feel meh about the entire lineup.
I agree with whoever said never buying VIP before a lineup announcement. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on it, and now I'm glad I didn't. I would be so pissed at myself.

It's not as bad as it could have bad in terms of the whole millennial issue thing. My question to everyone on here complaining is what lineup would you have liked? My guess is it would probably be a boring one. I'm not too excited about most of the rap either. The EDM is very good it's hard to see these acts anywhere other than a fest so it's pretty cool. And it's a lot of alternative so I don't see what all the complaining is about when most people wanted Chance the Rapper and Twenty One Pilots, that's the ultimate sellout millennial show and that's what a lot of festivals have on their lineup this year. Now that would have truly been disappointing IMO.

Interesting, guess its preference but yeah LL lineup really bores me, nowhere near the number of acts or size of acts. I do understand though that Bunbury started off a fest much like LL is and that is extremely frustrating to see it change over the years into what it's become.

I want at least 2 of 3 headliners to be alt bands. I can live with a rap or EDM act one night. If they want to continue reducing the number of acts that play instruments, that's cool. It's their festival. I just won't be going after this year. I'll go to Laurelive or Lolla or Firefly or whoever suits my indie taste. Who knows.

Even if you aren't happy with the lineup, you have to admit that Bunbury did get some big names that aren't playing a lot of fests. I'm pretty happy to see the caliber and uniqueness of acts, even if I don't like all the bands. Makes Bunbury stand out a little bit.

I wanted the bands that are playing festivals and seem obvious and easy to book. Franz Ferdinand is playing Hangout and GB. I wanted them. Young the Giant is playing Laurelive and GB. I wanted them. When I'm spending $900 on a pair of VIPs and the lineup contains a half dozen hip hop acts I never heard of instead of the half dozen indie acts I really want, I get cranky.

I was so nervous we would get stuck with Twenty One Pilots and Chance the Rapper, easily the most middle school thing since Hillary Clinton. A lineup like that is sell out for sure. Wiz & G-Eazy and 1975 while sellout to the middle school crowds at least is far overlooked by more talented acts like Muse, Pretty Lights, Death Cab, Shins, Thirty Seconds to Mars, AFI, Tech, NF etc. You should just make an account, I'd love to hear more about which artists constitute "selling out" to dumb millennials and which don't.

I'm glad this previously local festival which was sold 3 years ago booked Wiz Khalifa to headline the Miller Lite presented by McDonalds brought to you by Pepsi Stage and didn't sellout to middle schoolers by booking Chance The Rapper

Oh I didn't say this wasn't selling out it definitely is Wiz Khalifa, G-Eazy & D.R.A.M. are all terrible, sadly they aren't among the worst though. Bunbury should do away with rap and rap is even one of my favorite genres. I agree it doesn't fit and it isn't really part of their roots. But it was sold so this is what will happen unfortunately. Despite that tech n9ne and NF are amazing. The EDM acts are amazing, and the alt is too. I even think 1975 is a bit sellout but they are at least still talented and put on a good show despite their teenie bopper fanbase. Chance the Rapper and Twenty One Pilots are for little kids. I would not attend if either were at this festival. Not their place to be doing festivals, complete sellouts. 21P used to be so good but they are absolutely overrated and their fans don't know how to act at live shows nor do they respect real music, completely foolish. Chance the rapper was never good he got a few endorsements and basically mumbles & talks over a weak beat, when he decides to sing its out of tune and unbearable. One thing is for sure he can't rap he is drake with a more severe mental disability. All this to say, these are all pop radio bands why would they be at Bunbury? I mean bunbury did pretty good this year for uniqueness only exception is those sellout radio artists that I named above Wiz, G, and DRAM. I never once mentioned I am glad wiz khalifa is on this I just think its like who cares rap day is always a joke anyway cause they put more time and money into the alt bands. I see no huge problems with the lineup, everyone will have a few they don't like and if you don't like any go to the laura lee festival or whatever. Last year was great lineup and they stuck HAIM in there. I mean it happens every year they get some randomly terrible yet popular act and a few people like it.

I think if you rearrange the names and bit it looks a little better. Wiz and Geasy really look out of place there.

If you want to know what kind of lineup I expect, check out Firefly. They nailed it this year.

I always thought they were comparable but it looks like they are much bigger than Bunbury now. They have the best of what we have plus some.

Firefly booked Paul McCartney 2 years ago, Bunbury will never be that. Expectations need to be readjusted if you ever think that's possible.

The Firefly lineup is awesome. I get Twenty One Pilots, Weezer, Franz Ferdinand, and OAR in addition to Muse? Sign me up. Definitely waiting until the end of January next year to make a decision. Even if I had to go GA to Firefly instead of VIP to Bunbury, it's worth it for that lineup.
