I got an email from eventful that said the killers would be back this year on June 2nd. Anybody else hear anything?

Must be a mistake as they didn't fully delete the information from last year's post. Did manage to get Florence & the Machine off so at least someone at Eventful was half awake...
On another note, Foster The People are now playing the 104.5 Birthday show on June 11 in New Jersey. How about stopping ye old tour bus in Cincinnati for the weekend before hand and coming to Bunbury?

if foster the people was added to the lineup I'd be totally satisfied with the lineup. Right now I'm pissed gay I bought the early bird ticket.

Seriously man, this board is dead, is no one the least bit excited? I'm expecting a few adds since the lineup seems a bit smaller than the last couple of years. The Deadmau5 add last year was a great surprise, anyone looked at touring schedules and figuring out who we might get this year? I don't expect another headliner, but something in the 10-15 range would fit nicely!

I still check it everyday but I agree it has been dead. I would like to see a few adds, preferably rock adds. I am pretty pumped about Muse and Death Cab.

Heard some rumors about Walk the Moon being added, they have the dates free. Anyone got any inside info on this? Looking back at past years, the number or artists are less and I would think they will be adding a few.

You gotta think the daily lineup is coming soon.

Where'd you hear this? I love WTM and would be very satisfied with that addition. Heard some rumors about Walk the Moon being added, they have the dates free. Anyone got any inside info on this? Looking back at past years, the number or artists are less and I would think they will be adding a few.

Seems as if the daily lineup should be out by now, it was realeased on the 8th of April last year. My theory is that there are more bands to be added. Could be my hopeful thinking, but it is a smaller lineup after all.

They teased the daily lineup about 2 weeks ago. I can't wait until they confirm that damn near every rock band is on Sun, and Fri and Sat are mostly barren.

Sunday does look pretty decent. It's easy to see that people aren't excited about this year. It'll be interesting to see how much ticket sales drop. I'm hoping it'll be a wake up call to go back to the festival's roots.

I'm hoping it'll be a wake up call to go back to the festival's roots. Agreed. I'm thinking that's why whey waited so long to release the daily lineup due to poor ticket sales for 3 day passes. I'll be there all 3 days, but I'll be leaning early to see The Swear and Shake at fountain square to avoid seeing Wiz.

I'm actually pretty excited about this years line up - Muse, Death Cab, Bellion, Bassnectar, Shins? Sounds like a party to me. My only hope is that Bellion and Muse are on the same stage on Sunday, I'll be upset if I have to miss Jon in order to be close for Muse.

I already have VIP so I'll be there all 3 days. More than likely leaving early Fri and Sat though. Sun is pretty kickass. Sat is beyond thin to me.
Ticket sales must not be good. I thought they would be slow when I saw this lineup, but then I thought maybe I'm just old and kids would love this lineup. If I'm not mistaken, VIP still has not sold out. Sold out long ago last year.

Well, if they have a band playing at each stage, this festival will be from approximately 1 pm til 3 pm each day. lol

I was really disappointed earlier this year when I found out I could only go on Friday because of a wedding and a work obligation. Now I don't even care. It's such a small lineup and way different than it used to be.
End old man rant.

They really need another act or 2 for Saturday. Rock acts, specifically. How about we bring back Worn Flints? New music coming out soon. Hot band from C-bus. In my avatar.

Yes, 2 rock or even folk acts needed badly for Saturday.

With how small the lineup is this year vs. last year, plus I noticed on Bunbury's site FAQ that they're opening gates an hour earlier each day than last year (noon on Fri/Sat, 1pm on Sun), I'm thinking there may only be 2 stages this year (Yeatman's Cove Stage + Sawyer Point Stage).
It would make me quite sad if the River Stage goes away, but I could see them doing that to save money since ticket sales are obviously much less than prior years (VIP still being available at this time is unheard of) and they've been taking away stages ever since they bought the festival (6 stages to 4 in 2015, then 4 to 3 in 2016).
I made a mock schedule to see if this could work, and it's definitely do-able even with generous set lengths. Here's my schedule concept:
Friday:
Yeatman's Cove Stage: Wiz Khalifa - 9:45 to 11:15 G-Eazy - 7:45 to 9:15 Mike Stud - 6:15 to 7:15 NF - 4:45 to 5:45 Eden - 3:30 to 4:15 Flor - 2:30 to 3:00 Alex Angelo - 1:30 to 2:00
Sawyer Point Stage: Death Cab for Cutie - 8:30 to 9:30 The Shins - 7:00 to 8:00 Mutemath - 5:30 to 6:30 Civil Twilight - 4:15 to 5:00 July Talk - 3:00 to 3:45 The Upset Victory - 2:00 to 2:30 Flying Underground - 1:00 to 1:30
Saturday:
Yeatman's Cove Stage: Bassnectar - 9:45 to 11:15 Pretty Lights - 7:45 to 9:15 D.R.A.M. - 6:15 to 7:15 Tech N9ne - 4:45 to 5:45 CVBZ - 3:30 to 4:15 Frenship - 2:30 to 3:00 Liberty Deep Down - 1:30 to 2:00
Sawyer Point Stage: Hayley Kiyoko - 8:30 to 9:30 Kevin Garrett - 7:00 to 8:00 Cobi - 5:30 to 6:30 San Fermin - 4:15 to 5:00 VHS Collection - 3:00 to 3:45 Charlie Hirsch - 2:00 to 2:30 Current Events - 1:00 to 1:30
Sunday:
Yeatman's Cove Stage: Muse - 9:45 to 11:15 30 Seconds to Mars - 8:15 to 9:15 AFI - 6:45 to 7:45 Flogging Molly - 5:15 to 6:15 Reverend Horton Heat - 4:00 to 4:45 Dreamers - 3:00 to 3:30 White Reaper - 2:00 to 2:30
Sawyer Point Stage: The 1975 - 8:45 to 9:45 Jon Bellion - 7:15 to 8:15 Watsky - 6:00 to 6:45 Moon Taxi - 4:45 to 5:30 Arkells - 3:30 to 4:15 Caamp - 2:30 to 3:00 Time Cat - 1:30 to 2:00

I hate to be so negative, but if they cut it down to two stages I can't see myself ever going back. Though I like quite a few of the acts it's way too much money for a two stage festival.

So the longtime members of this board are mostly disappointed, ticket sales are apparently down, and the lineup has not been met with the enthusiasm the organizers hoped. Where do they go from here?
