The booking team has almost confirmed both The National and Foo Fighters. My source will remain unknown.

The National are playing London on June 2nd, so I would think that would rule them out.

Yea I can't imagine they are going to fly back to the US especially when they have a show I believe in Ireland on the 7th of June.

Foo Fighters start a European tour the following week so unless it's a one off warm up gig I don't know if they would be headliners. It's possible but seems unlikely.
I was on vacation last year so I couldn't go and went to Mamby on the Beach instead last year. It is smaller than Bunbury and while being on a beach was fun, it wasn't as good at Bunbury imo. I hope the lineup is good this year!

But I know Walk the Moon is a pretty alright show, caught them at Bunbury 2015! oh yes so MGMT was very meh in my opinion. We had VIP tickets so we were kind of off to the side of the stage but it all sounded incredibly jumbled to me. But I have seen a variety of opinions on them over the years so it lines up with what I've seen but others really like them so I think they are kind of a case by case (person by person) basis. And I do like their singles so I do like them overall. I enjoyed Mister Wives, Miike Snow, The Magician, Walk The Moon, Cut Copy, Mutemath, Justin Martin, Sam Fedlt (just to name a few). I was REALLY disappointed in Phoebe Ryan, I had high hopes for her and she just kind of sang over her backtracks and didn't seem to put much of an effort in at all. My favorite (and my girlfriend's who had never heard of them before) was hands down Todd Terje and The Olsens. That was soooo much fun.

I also noticed that Franz Ferdinand just announced a new album and tour and they hit some US cities then head overseas and come back to the states in the Spring to hit some more big cities and end in the beginning of May. They avoid Ohio completely and seem like the type of act they would book based upon the past few lineups.

I went to see them in CLE the night before Bunbury.

If Bunbury does I'm REALLY hoping it's not in a headlining spot. Or if so it's on Sunday haha.

I’d definitely look out for Walk the Moon to play bunbury next year. They just released an album and they have no Ohio dates on their tour. With them being from Cincy I’d say this is incredibly likely. Also definitely look for Franz Ferdinand to play this year. Probably in the same place that Death Cab was last year.
MGMT or LCD could be two bands that could grab a headlining spot. Would be stoked to see LCD because I just hear their sets are unreal, but I’d like to see MGMT (whom I’ve also never seen) as a sub headliner just because they’ve headlined here before and those in this thread say they’re average live.

If they go this route of some more indie bands I'm definitely going this year. I hope HAIM is there this year too. 2016 was the first time seeing them live or even knowing who they were and I was very pleasantly surprised.

So Rock Im Park in Germany announced their lineup today, and it’s also June 1-3. So this pretty much rules out acts like Foo Fighters and Gorillaz as headliners, as well as smaller acts like Greta Van Vleet and Milky Chance that I was thinking could maybe work at Bunbury. Also a new London festival dropped a lineup featuring acts like LCD, Phoenix, the XX, and Lorde, with a few other good ones. This is the weekend before bunbury, so they aren’t officially ruled out but it’s not likely.
Bon Iver plays Louisville on Wednesday then pretty much stays out of Ohio and the Midwest through April when their tour stops in Europe. They’re supposed to announce more dates, but could anyone see them at Bunbury? How would you feel about that?
Also curious to see if there’s another EDM headliner and who it would be. There probably will which is eh for me, but any thoughts on who it would be?

I'm not a big Bon Iver fan myself but I know that people overall would probably be excited for that get. I mean if we are talking bigger EDM people I would prefer Skrillex over other options they could go with. But with people like Marshmellow willing to play just about anything that will throw money at him...that has my worried.

Yeah really not a fan of those cheese ball pop edm guys like Marshmello or Chainsmokers. While I’m not a huge fan of edm in general I give bunbury credit for scheduling the better edm headliners. The deadmau5 set in 2016 was actually pretty interesting bc it was my first edm show. The fans were actually cool too I had a lot of nice conversations. I heard Bassnectar was the same way although I missed it. I was at Diplo set in Columbus and Jesus it was awful, everyone was messed up and the couple behind me was trying to make a baby. The girl was like feeling me from behind and I asked her to stop and then her boyfriend called me a pussy and they continued being weird so I left lol. So yeah don’t love EDM lol. Would be totally fine without an edm headliner

I know the Bassnectar fans get a bad rep but I've never had a problem with them and have had fun at his sets before (although i usually leave halfway through because I can't handle that heavy of bass music for that long haha). I've never seen Diplo but that does not surprise me AT ALL. The acts that bring in the fans that are just out of their minds the entire time are easily the worst.

Queens of the Stone Age look to be a likely candidate for the Rock headliner. They're on tour with Royal Blood right before Bunbury, so I would include them in the "likely" category also.

Also there’s no way Walk the Moon doesn’t play bunbury the more thought i give it. They have an album coming Friday with an extensive tour that has no Ohio dates. But where would they be billed?

They’re okay but bunbury would shaft us if we went from muse to Walk the Moon

They should try to get all of the The bands: Walk the moon, Portugal the man, Cage the Eleephant, Run the Jewels. I'd actually be happy with that.
