Sent a message to The Chainsmokers Reddit and asked about the logistics of them playing in Columbus and Vegas the same night. Many people responded back that they actually do this a lot and have a private jet that flys them in. Although the Vegas venue claims the shows starts at 10:30 vegas time, they actually dont go on stage until around 1:30am. They absolutely have enough time to get to Vegas for the show although it would be stressful. That's some solid investigative work right there! What other missions can we put you on... Is Jack White going to play more solo work, or will he stick to the classic white stripes songs? Or a healthy mix? That's been my biggest question

Or a healthy mix? That's been my biggest question Searching predictions on Reddit as well as research from Setlist.FM, looks like he generally does about 1/3 solo work and the other 2/3 white stripes, raconteurs, and covers. I expect him to play "the hits" since it's a festival which will have more casual listeners than a normal tour stop. Don't expect him to play some back catalog song that never gets played.

Not trying to start a bunch of b.s. rumors, but I have 3 friends who work for Promowest Productions and they hinted to me that "the Bunbury lineup is not complete"...

Mainly because we've noticed acts being near the Columbus area around that time that are oddly not booked for the festival. Not going to get my hopes up or anything but I'm all for it if anyone gets added!

My friend plays the banjo in CAAMP and they opened Sunday and were on the bill from the beginning I know someone who's the drummer in a local band and in 2016 they were on the initial lineup as well. because I feel like we keep bringing them up, Portugal The Man has a show on the 26th of May in Maine and then is off until Firefly 2 weeks after Bunbury. I still feel like IF anyone were to be added, you'd gotta think it's them. They've played everywhere but Cinci on this tour it seems like.

We might not hear this addition, if it's true, for a little while. I know it's a little different circumstances, but deadmau5 was announced in May. Since Peter, Bjorn, and John pulled out and I can't imagine this group of headliners really breaking the bank, there's DEFINITELY got to be room on saturday.

EXACTLY what I was thinking unless the Chainsmokers really set them back. I still think Muse cost waaaaaaay more than Jack White, Incubus, and Blink though. If I had to make a guestimation, I would say they've got $50,000 to grab someone Saturday. Portugal seems like a safe bet however I'm thinking it's gonna be the Struts. They have a gap on Saturday and they aren't going to cost too much

I'm not going to rule out an additional rap act though, they might want to bring diversity considering there's really only Post Malone

Not a fan of raps, but that genre does seem underwhelmingly represented

If they out of no where were like "oh yeah by the way, we actually have an artist addition and it's THE STRUTS!" I don't think that moves the needle enough individually. It'd be weird to announce that. P.tM would be far more of a big deal to people overall.
I mean if they want to add someone and just have a good ol time and probably get them on the low end of the pay spectrum. Just have freaking Girl Talk drive over from Pittsburgh and let's have a big dance part to end out Saturday night!

We don't know the context of the convo obviously so was just curious what your take on them saying that was.

I feel like they would not hint something to me if it was a low tier artist (unless it was someone they knew I liked a lot). I've been trying to get one of them to give me details but they won't. They also wouldn't tell me any of the lineup before it dropped. These guys are tight lipped

Does make lineup and schedule speculation a lot more fun!

They went Deadmau5 to Bassnectar, Skrillex it is! I dont know about that...I feel like Chainsmokers and Griz are enough "EDM" to cover that basis for the weekend. As much as I prefer not to listen to rap music, I think a decently big rappist is our best best.

I'm not that into Rap right now either but would probably be down for like a Lil Wayne if he actually rapped his hits and it wasn't like backtracking and him just rapping over his own recorded lyrics and stumbling around high on syrup. Outside of him I'm not sure who's big that they would get. Maybe Chance the Rapper?

I feel like Portugal. The man is a pipe dream. Only because there is no reason they wouldn't have already been announced.
The only possibility is if they went to them later and asked to book them. They are a regular with Promowest. They already have a tour going where they play at least one Promowest venue. I just feel like unless they are filling the hole of somebody who either cancelled or dropped out, there is no reason they wouldn't already be on the bill.

Portugal has had pretty massive success over the last 12 months though. It's the difference of Portugal who is the third band listed on Sunday at Coachella vs Peter Bjorn and John who was the 21st band listed on the original Bunbury poster.

I could (and maybe I'm totally giving people the benefit of the doubt) see bands that do a lot of the same promotion's venues on tours to perhaps give them a discount on a festival if it is a late booking. I was also just thinking how weird the initial posted looked with 3 names at the top and then 2 under it and then the normal undercard billing layout. I've never seen someone lay bands out like that before.
