Just to keep throwing out names, Hozier is slotted to release a sophomore album soon and if it’s as successful as the last one expect him to tour heavily. I could totally see this being an act at bunbury and I do like hozier

Would LOVE Tame Impala. Give em the Young the Giant spot (so they get the good stage!). Hozier doesn't do a lot for me but I know people would probably go nuts to see him so that'd be a good act to attempt to get for sure.

Tame Impala has played Bunbury before so they would definitely be in the mix again.
I love Hozier. I got sick of that Take Me to Church song pretty quickly, but his entire album is actually pretty great beyond that. Jackie and Wilson is one of my favorite songs.

I’m thinking of just making a big ole spreadsheet of everyone who’s on tour and I consider bunbury eligible

I’m thinking of just making a big ole spreadsheet of everyone who’s on tour and I consider bunbury eligible Fully endorse this. Bob Moses also just announced a fall tour for their new album with zero midwest dates on it so I would assume they will be swinging around these parts at some point in the Spring or Fall (last time was in support with M83 in Columbus DURING Bunbury, which left me extremely depressed).

With Warped tour ending, does anyone think music festivals will start to swoop up some of those bands?

Rainbow Kitten Surprise is decent. They played Forecastle this year. I don't know the other two.

Seems pretty plausible to me that this could be a lineup they would book.

I have no idea who Alex Lahey is. I am not a fan of Rainbow Kitten Surprise and I think state champs is opening for Blink-182 in september?
If the past is any indication of the festival, my source rarely gives me the juicy details that I want to know haha

A young female Australian Indie Pop Rock act. Was expecting a Courtney Barnett clone, but she definitely has a more poppy rock sound than Courtney. If you like that sort of thing she's not bad.

I have been repeatedly begging to get a photo of the list but have had no success. Even with this being a subset of a wishlist, I have to imagine they probably have a pool of over 100+ artists and only land about 40 of them

They’re starting to lock down this formula so that no demographic really LOVES the lineup but they like it enough to get a ticket, that now I was last year and looking at this wishlist that’s how I feel this year. I like rainbow kitten surprise btw, and I’ll check out Alex Lahey!

We usually put Bunbury as the top one we will attend just based on location (since we are in Columbus) but have recently talked about checking out Electric Forest or Bonnaroo (I've been once) this year just to mix it up. So I may make a decision on lineup this year more than ever.

This year I actually got woken up by sound checks. The only "advantage" to me having different tastes than the target demo is that I don't have to rush around and stand in dense crowds waiting for a band. I can just chill.

I am really hoping that 2019 is a big year for Bunbury. We all know that there were not a ton of top tier headliners touring this summer. I have a feeling we will grab someone big again. I'd really love to pick up some artists like Bon Iver, Dead and Company, Silversun Pickups, Radiohead, Head and the Heart, Modest Mouse, Jack Johnson, Lumineers, Mumford and Sons.

Dead and Co is obviously a pipedream since any festival they play at they make it a requirement that they get 2 1/2 - 3 hours to play. With just 3 stages, I don't see Bunbury ever doing this. Mumford has been quiet for a long time but we expect to see a new album coming sometime. Then, I see them going back out touring and hitting festivals again. Mumford seems like it could actually happen

I saw Arctic Monkeys again last night. I would die to have them at Bunbury. I know they were in consideration for 2018 but it didn’t work, but I’m hopeful that something will work out with them next year.

I hear all this hype for Arctic Monkeys and I have tried so many times to get into them but they still do nothing for me. So for my own selfish reasons, I'm hoping for someone else

Just dot done seeing vampire weekend and holy shit that was a fantastic show. Without Rostam they went from a 4 piece to a 7. Unbelievable tonight. Lollapalooza did a great job with rock headliners this year: Arctic Monkeys, the National, and Vampire Weekend all blew my face off. And I know jack white will be great.
Also tonight Ezra Koenig said that the next vampire weekend album is complete and he would be releasing it very soon. He hinted that they would be touring it next summer. Possible bunbury booking??

Jack White was incredible tonight, I hate to say it but he played WAY better tonight than at bunbury. Act of the day had to be Portugal. The Man. They absolutely killed that set. FunkyMoses was right they jammed so freaking hard and I totally feel the millennial jam band vibe. They had a real chip on their shoulder knowing that a lot of people were only there to hear feel it still. Damn could they play, and they were flashing some interesting stuff on the screen behind them. My personal favorites said “that’s right kids, no computers up here. Just live instruments.” And during feel it still in the corner it said “WE WILL NOT SELL OUT AGAIN”. They were playing really hard to prove a point and I’m 100% on board.
Also if you want to laugh look at Portugal the man and cage the elephant’s tweets making fun of the 1975
