The reason I got VIP for Bunbury and not Forecastle is that Forecastle’s VIP rail is basically off stage. It’s waaaaaaay to the side. Oh really??? That’s disappointing. Well on the plus side there will probably only be about 12k people to fight to the front with instead of 20k 😂 I don't even know if you're hitting 12k with this - FOB can't hit half that headlining a show.

Are we going to get a confirmation on if the 1975 were a replacement for blink or if they still may fill that slot? Obviously not counting on it but just curious. They must be worried about ticket sales at this point. Almost every single person I’ve heard or seen was negative feedback

I will try to get info from my source but I think we can all agree that the general consensus on social media is that this is not what any of us expected

Give me like Hozier and someone like Broockhampton and I'm freaking there!

This is kind of cringey to listen to.

Is anyone really that excited about Greta Van Fleet as a headliner? I mean they only have 1 album. I get that people like them but that can’t be ideal for anyone as the number 2 at a festival

I’ve seen them six times. The growth every time’s been insane. The two shows I saw in December were two of the best shows I’ve ever seen. They’ve come a long way since before their EP was even released. They were like statues.

There is a HUGE gap between being a just a great live band and being a festival headlining band.

You admitted in your comment that they're still growing - Headliners are bands in their prime, the top of their game, or people who *have* been at the top of their game. Bands that have existed in the popular eye for little over a year, one album shouldn't be headlining. Could they be up high because they've been really successful? Absolutely, but they shouldn't be headlining. The only other option I see is closing the 2nd stage if Bunbury wanted to be the festival to give them a boost. But to give a band like that over ALL the other choices as a headliner is just sad.

We’ll see come May/June — just go in with an open mind. I don’t think they should be headlining a festival like Bunbury (just due to the festival’s size), but I’m alright with it.
I’m digging all three headliners assuming FOB plays the good shit.
But objectively I can see why people are asking where the FUCK the top line is.

I mean hell, they've been on SNL, so I guess that means they are officially headliner material. We are already seeing them in Florida in May. We've already seen FOB last year - disappointing. Also saw STP last year - decent. Rockville has a way better lineup this year: Korn, Tool, Rob Zombie, Incubus, The Prodigy, Evanescence, Chevelle, The Cult, Papa Roach, The Struts...

this thing would just look so much better if they added Florence and the Machine / Cage the Elephant - something like that as a reasonably priced #2 act and make the 1975 the #3 - that would shift the conversation from "where are the headliners" to the "the headliners are meh." And then add some kind of Gary Clark Jr / Better Oblivion Community Center type of second tier act that would at least be interesting.

imgur.com/a/6rsf0eOWow... if this isn’t evidence they’re desperate. “Tickets selling fast!” I sincerely doubt this. Boston Calling doesn’t have any indication of ticket sales and I’d have to assume they’re selling quite a bit better.

Was bored this weekend and Youtubed some MGK live performances. I'm sure some don't like his music, but for those who do...I can see him possibly putting on one of the best performances of the weekend. Dude seems to bring an energy where you can't help but have a good time. Also, he's on the third row of the lineup, but I wouldn't be surprised if they move him up on the daily lineups...kind of like they did with Incubus last year.

It was wild a week ago this board was abuzz with people posting about potential headliners and we were debating the likelihood of Vampire Weekend or Hozier being headliners and if Florence would be the top headliner and now.....crickets.....

I haven't even received more than 3 or 4 people asking me things about my source. It seems like people saw the lineup and then completely bailed

In a year that they could have absolutely capitalized on just diverse lineups and none standing out as well above the others...they just didn't seem to put their best foot forward.
I did listen to Girl Talk again over the weekend though and that has be excited.

I was thinking of taking my boys because u thought the kids policy was 12 and under free. I guess it's actually 6 and under now which likely puts me out. Not paying for a full ticket for them both and them likely my wife and I as well. Ha
Current status = OUT

I'm definitely not a fan of his but after seeing him open for Fall Out Boy four freaking times, I can admit he does put on a good show. He brings a ton of energy and gets the audience UP. I just hope he's not on the same day and stage as Fall Out Boy because I'll be staking out one spot that day and I really thought I was done having to watch him after FOB's last tour.

Yeah, quickly decided I will not be attending the festival this year. I was really excited to go again this year since I had to miss last year for a work outing but wow... my excitement has dipped so far. Just waiting for Forecastle and Lollapalooza now to make a decision

It seems like people saw the lineup and then completely bailed It just stinks because I have kids and the convenience factor is huge for me when it comes to Bunbury. I know it is Cincinnati and we don't have the money to throw around that other festivals have but this feels like a step backwards and legitimately made me concerned about the future of the festival. It may just be perception but it seems like they cut back this year. The bands that are playing are not bad but two of the headliners feel like a reach and then it permeates downward though the lineup. Bands are a line higher than they should be.

There is good and bad to the lineup. I’m hoping they put most the acts I’m interested in (FOB, MGK, dashboard, blue October, aces, tropadelics) on the same day and I will buy a single day. If it’s scattered then I won’t be there for a 3-day for the first time in 4 years

Again, I'm hype for this line up. Listening to a playlist I made for it on Spotify and I'm hearing a lot I like. Weak headliners? Sure, I can get behind that, but I like a lot of what'll be there. If they make a surprising, big addition, that's just a great perk, but I absolutely don't think they'll do that.
