I would have figured Avett for the late on Sun, but welp. Also really amused at all of the people saying "GREAT LINEUP" both at the reveal event and online and just focusing on the fact that TOP is on the lineup Call me skeptical, but I assume it’s a PromoWest or Radio Station employee every time I hear someone being overly enthusiastic about this lineup on social media or a message board.

For what it's worth, I did get a pretty good backstory to all the adds/drops that happened this year from my source. I'll post a recap likely next week once the boards die down a little bit. The boards are already dead...please tell us!! Yeah I was refreshing this page every 2 minutes of work the last 2 weeks, now this is the first I’ve logged on lol

Not trying to hold anything over your heads, just want to get all the info collected into a cohesive unit

No wonder why MCR pulled out of Bunbury. Their arena show tickets were scooped up in a flash even at ridiculous prices. Tried to sang some as a birthday gift for friend but it was a no go haha I genuinely had no idea they were *that* popular.

If we had them and Billie on the top line, I think Bunbury would've sold out WELL in advance of June. Maybe even before single day tickets.

Maybe even before single day tickets. This is part of the reason they backed out, according to my source. I'll go more into the details next week. But long story short, they booked their single reunion show at the Shrine to gauge interest and signed with a few festivals around the same time the Shrine gig was booked. Once they realized the demand, they moved to booking arena shows and backed out of the agreements they had made earlier.

I said 8 bands fronted by females. I wasn’t including any bands that have female members like the other festival did, also which would make more for Bunbury like Neon Trees doesn’t count towards the 8. I could see being mad if it was in the low single digits but if it’s in the double digits and probably closer to 33% or higher I think people are just wanting to be upset.

Sad thing is, I think this lineup will actually sell well. Booking Twenty One Pilots probably saved their bacon after losing two strong headliners. They will move a lot of tickets, more than last year's #1 did. On the Twenty-One Pilots subreddit, a lot of their fans were responding very well to the undercard. I also feel like Marshmello and Melanie Martinez will attract a good amount of folks, but there really isn't much else that might, unless they put the Avetts and Old Crowe Medicine Show on the same night. That might move some single day tickets.

I genuinely had no idea they were *that* popular. I don't think THEY did either. Hahaha My kids and their friends are all late teens/early twenties and I guess they have started their "quarter life crises." Suddenly they are all nostalgic for the bands of their "youth."

That night could sell out if they play it right

The older two don't really seem to care now that MCR is not happening.

As the dust settles and I look at this lineup and listen through it.. I’m more okay with it. It’s still weak and has some weird ass mixes of genres in there, but I know I’ll have a good time this year. It really just makes me feel like I’ll realize Bunbury will never quite have the lineup I’d like, or that it *should* have.
I genuinely think I prefer VIP at Bunbury for $400 over GA at Boston Calling for $400 just to see Rage, Chili Peps, and Foo. Three legendary bands, but there’s even less value there, in my opinion.

I agree with that last part. Upon first glance, those to 3 at BC are incredibly impressive, but look a little further, and the undercard is SERIOUSLY disappointing. Especially since they damn near doubled their prices.I know that top 3 is insanely expensive, but BC has brought in three huge headliners several times before and still brought a great undercard, and at a lower price. Prime example: 2018. They booked Eminem, The Killers, and Jack White, all top tier headliners. They were still able to get Queens of the Stone Age, Paramore, The National, Khaliid, Tyler the creator, Portugal. the Man, St. Vincent, Fleet Foxes and more. Compare that to this year, where the only real notable undercard acts are Run the Jewels, The 1975, AVA, and Brittany Howard. I'm sure BC's top 3 this year is more expensive than that top 3, but it can't be by THAT much. Especially with the steep hike in prices.

Just saw an article that says The Used is rumored to be opening for MCR on their stadium tour. That would be a pretty damn nuts lineup

The Struts tour with Glorious sons, The Regrettes, and JJ Wilde. I know this has been said before but How and why tf did Bunbury not book The Glorious Sons. They are a perfect booking. Whatever.

Went and saw the Lumineers last night in Indy. Never been a huge fan, but always liked them well enough. They DEFINITELY won me over last night though. They're for sure a headliner now, Bankers Life FIeldhouse was damn near capacity and it was a great time. Bunbury really missed a good opportunity to book them, I think they would have been a very popular headliner.

They killed it as well.

At this point it feels like we can identify "Bunbury type bands" more than the people that run Bunbury can.
