Things look pretty bleak around here! I was surprised to see the forum was still up and running!
I've been absent but still going to shows and event went to Bonnaroo last year! Anyone else been to anything recently? Anything cool coming up?
Would be fun to get this back up and running with music convo's around the Columbus and Cinci scene if people are still interested.

Hell yeah!
Had an account on here in high school and decided to randomly check in tonight. If anything, a snap group or something would be cool.
I’ve been to Bonnaroo the last two years, what were some of your favorite sets from this year?

I’ve been to Bonnaroo the last two years, what were some of your favorite sets from this year? Awesome! I really enjoyed the Bob Moses set (I've been a big fan of theirs for awhile now), MUNA and Cheryl Crow were really great surprises. I also didn't have any expectations for Paramore and loved it. I think the one that stands out the most to me was the Griz Golden Hour set. I still watch that occasionally on YouTube. Such great vibes! I lost my phone during the wait for Big Wild and spent most the set trying to find it and eventually found people who had it with them and right when I got it back they started playing 6's to 9's and that was just about as perfect as it could get.

Really enjoyed Black Midi, Three 6 Mafia, Griz and Paramore. Agreed on Sheryl Crow, didn't realize how many songs of hers I knew. Disclosure, Denzel Curry, 100 Gecs we're also a lot of fun in 2022. It's wild that the last time I checked this board I was in high school, now a semester away from graduating.

Now Bunbury doesn't exist (although they weirdly try to use their brand from time to time?) and Forecastle is on hiatus (really hope they come back this summer but with no update, it doesn't look promising).

Best music festival board for sure. Even though Roo is my summer fest now, most inforoo users are insufferable. Also considering going to Kilby in Utah (what Bunbury should've been).

Oh yeah, that lineup is fantastic. Bunbury level for sure. I messaged Festival Owl about Forecastle but got no response unfortunately. I'm definitely hitting up Sonic Temple this year (first time, even though it's been virtually in my backyard for years now). Looking at Roo but also wouldn't hate going to something I don't need to camp out at. But will be keeping an eye on the Bonnaroo lineup.

I still check in randomly.
I'm probably only going to WonderRoad this year as I'm closer to it than any other
Depends on lineups though.
I've seen since pretty great shows recently.
Yoke Lore was incredible Went to Red Rocks to see Manchester Orchestra Saw Noah Kahan
Probably the best though it's taking my 11yr old son to a couple shows and he had a BLAST and got a couple drumsticks and setlists.
I'm thinking about buying him tickets to see one of his favorites BoyWithUke coming up
Woot woot.... Long live, live music!!

I was sick and missed out on Cannons and Roosevelt recently and am completely bummed. Those were 2 of my most streams artists on the Spotify wrapped.
Hoping that we get some new music from artists in the Spring and the list of touring acts rolling through Newport Music Hall and Kemba Live are stellar.
I didn't make it to WonderBus last year due to traveling at the time, but I'm definitely curious who they pull in (and the subsequent other Wonder festivals they do around the midwest also!)

Newport and Kemba seem to be doing pretty well on booking so far this Spring. Really want to see Alvvays at the Newport and Say Anything at Kemba.

Anyone going to Peppercorn's Marathon this weekend in Columbus? It's one of my favorite events each year, really excited for it!

Boston Calling and Bonnaroo lineups are out today. Both are kind of meh. Definitely acts I'd like to see, but I already have Sonic Temple tickets so Boston Calling is out of the picture.
And that Bonnaroo lineup isn't likely to get me there with a $500 ticket cost and camping all weekend.
If some of the acts were to announce Columbus shows around the summer time though, I'd love that.
Really hoping that Wonderbus can pull in some good names this year.

Any good shows coming up around Columbus this Spring?
Going to Bleachers in early June at Kemba Live, but am always looking for more shows to add to the slate!

I'm here in Indy and they have stuck great shows at the Hi-fi. I have tickets for Joe Pug in Feb and also tickets for a solo acoustic show with Jason Singer {Michigander}. Pretty pumped about those

Seeing too many to count, but really excited to see Two Door Cinema Club and Say Anything at Kemba, Alvvays at Newport, and Geese at A&R. Also planning on seeing Jeff Rosenstock at King of Clubs and Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs at Ace of Cups. Also debating on seeing Knocked Loose and King Gizzard at Megacorp this summer.

I’m also glad the discussion had returned. I’m concerned with Wonderbus, WonderRoad, and Wonderstruck. I went to Pittsburgh and Indy last year and had a great time at both. All of their socials have gone quiet. I’m considering Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville, I liked that lineup a lot.

Usually we'd be getting close to them announcing dates and things but it's been pretty quiet. I'm starting to think it may be a festival-less year for me based on what I'm seeing out there unfortunately. Other than Sonic Temple, but I live close enough that I can go home every night so that'll be so convenient I'm not looping it in with a traditional festival experience haha.

What are some good jam bands coming to town that I should see? This year I want to make sure I hit up at least one. I know Woodlands Tavern is always having ones come through, I just don't know the tier of who is good and what not anymore haha.

They haven't even posted anything since July 4th. Not looking good

Jack Harlow is putting on a festival at Forecastle's old location memorial day weekend. Him and SZA are headlining, with Omar Apollo, Pink Pantheress, Channel Tres & Vince Staples as some of the undercard. 2-day is $255 so probably gonna skip.

Yeah that's a bit steep for that lineup overall, but glad to see he has the ambition to use that space.
I reached out to Festival Owl the other day in regards to Forecastle, he said that there are no current plans to bring it back. Which is a mega bummer.
Bunbury always seemed to be relatively well attended the years I went. I know the owner sold some to AMG and there was that whole transaction. It still seems really weird to me Promowest uses the "Bunbury Presents" for some concerts down there lol. That name doesn't have any cache without the festival actually being active haha.

Wonder folks just released a statement:
"Greetings Wonder Fans -
We realize it’s been radio silence since last September, so we will cut to the chase.
We definitely plan to continue the Wonder festivals!
As you know, we’ve been staging our music festivals for many years. It costs a lot of money to run these events and the second half of last year was really tough.
As the ‘23 festival season ended, a few of us were left to cover all the costs. This was different from how things began and continues to be both deeply disappointing and unsustainable.
We are committed to putting last year behind us and gearing up for the future.
At this time, we are reviewing opportunities with new partners – partners who will allow us to become better and stronger.
Like any industry, there are times of disruption and we have to adapt. Now is one of those times.
What drives us to succeed is each of you. We all know that music festivals are the ultimate unifier of people. The festival experience is incredible and hard to duplicate.
The Wonder fests may take place later than usual, but there are no plans to give up what we started. Thank you for your continued interest and support. Check periodically on all socials for updates.
The Wonder Festivals Team"

The Wonder Festivals Team" Sounds like it’s dead, what a bummer. Every festival I’ve attended has been killed, Bunbury, Promowest Fest, Forecastle, Laurelive, Wonderbus, WonderRoad, Wonderworks. I can’t make Bourbon and Beyond, looks like my 10 straight years of music festivals (besides 2020) will end.
