Finally, Bunbury releases a lineup that (in my opinion) beats out the lineup from year one, this is beautiful.

There are only 35-40 bands on that lineup, and an article on the leak said there would be 50 total bands, as opposed to last year's 81 bands. If that's true, I'll be a bit disappointed.

Honest question here. Not criticizing your comment. But how many of those 81 bands did you actually watch? I really like the idea of getting the focus down to about 50 bands. It looks like they have taken the money and put it into some much more top heavy artists. They still have a nice selection on the lower card and are still going to add another 10-15 local artists to check out. I think this is perfect. I understand if you are the type of person who likes to listen to one to two songs from an artist and move on to the next stage. But I'm extremely happy with everything they are doing this year.

Yeah, I hated walking by the two stages on the east end of the park and there being like twenty people there watching a pretty good sounding band.

They tripled the talent budget and reduced the number of stages. The artists they've hired are much more expensive (as is the whole festival industry). It's no surprise the lineup is smaller. Yeah, there is no way you can enjoy all of those bands in three days. This looks like a great lineup.

I've never gone, but there were 20 bands I really would've wanted to see last year, many if not most of those being on the undercard, presumably where cuts are being made to make way for bigger headliners, and seven bands I really would want to see so far this year. That being said I'm sure that, like with LouFest when something similar happened with its lineup last year, if I took time to listen to some of the bands, I'd probably end up liking a similar number.

There could be an all-time high arrest record set this year for the CPD with this kind of diverse music. Going from rock, to rap to easy going; someone is going to get their synthesizer broken during this festival......good thing they have posted the no tree climbing rule also to keep the numbers down.

Looks like a great lineup to me. IMO, It's probably the best group of headliners that the festival has had. The under card definitely looks solid to me too. I'm really looking forward to it.
What I do think it is interesting that they cut back on the number of bands and stages, but drastically increased the variety at the same time. If you would have told me that Snoop Dogg would headline and there would be a country musician (Kacey Musgraves) in the lineup, there is absolutely no way I would have believed it. I think the former Bunbury owner was even quoted last year of saying that they wouldn't add hip-hop acts to the lineup. From what I remember of Promowest from my time in Columbus they did a great job getting indie/alternative/rock bands to the city, but never did much on the hip-hop side.
We'll see in June, but I hope the diversity move works. It's hard to judge based on social media reaction. Facebook revolted when Paramore & FOB were announced as headliners last year... and yet Saturday, last year, was probably the most crowded the festival was over all 3 years.

That being because most of the people who care enough about the festival to keep up with it on social media are different than the hordes of teenage girls who showed up for Paramore and Fall Out Boy only.

I'm curious to see how they break up the days. I could see them tailoring that day's bands somewhat to the sound of the headliner, so Decemberists, Old Crow, etc with Avett Brothers and Twenty One Pilots, Atmosphere, etc with Snoop. That would be a great thing for people that buy a single day pass. Either way, they did great with this lineup. I think it's much bigger than any of us on here expected.

If the festival keeps going at this caliber, I'm actually really concerned about overcrowding. I mean, Sawyer Point isn't that big. Moving the main stage last year did open the space up a lot more, though.

I know there are still some local and regional bands that will still be added to the lineup. Also, the smaller number of bands is because they are doing fewer stages. The stage at the far eastern end by the tennis courts rarely had many people there to see the bands. I think it's a good idea to scale back the number of stages and bands and focus on getting a great lineup of 50 or so bands rather than 81 bands, about 20 or so who will be playing for very few people at the farthest stages.

Only so many bands you can see in a day. I'd rather have the quality not quantity

Moving the main stage last year did open the space up a lot more, though. I'm wondering if even with the positioning of the stage last year will suffice for this year. It was still a tight squeeze. I think they should flip the VIP over to the river side of the main stage. That way you can have the VIP section open up to the river (thus creating a view and the appearance of more value) and opening up the old VIP area to more GA. They used a lot of real estate on the nice grassy area for VIP last year.

Very pleased with the overall line-up, even if I don't care one bit about Snoopp or the Avett Bros.
This is the best line-up since Year 1 of Bunbury and in fact it may be even better than Year 1.

Looks like Daniel In Stereo is the first local act confirmed. The song "Son Be Careful" was getting some play on the Project.

I will say that I commend them on getting such big name acts, while still keeping the price reasonable (which is probably a big reason for not having ton of bands), as Bunbury's bang for your buck factor is one of the main reasons I'm considering going.

Someone tell me it's gonna be ok.....
- $ 750 for for two VIP tickets bought right after 2014 event - $ 575 for two nights in the Residence Inn less than 5 minute walk to Bunbury (great roof top bar by the way) - $ 75 for 3 days of parking - $ 350 for 3 days of awesome craft beer, food and merchandise from ( if any indication from previous years ) 5 different bands I will want to support - $ 50 in gas
Please tell this hardline Alternative soul, that the $1800 I am dropping on this festival is so going to be worth it. Please tell me I will love the non Alternative acts. You guys keep saying it is awesome.........Assure me, I need the support.
