I think this all but confirms The Head and the Heart. I would love to see Phoenix.

I'd be happy with and count on a Governor's Ball / LaureLive mashup being a good part of the Bunbury lineup

PW just announced The XX at Express Live 5/5. Have to wonder if that deal includes a Bunbury date.

PW issued a press release saying no PW Fest in 2017. Hopefully that means devoting more $$ for a killer Bunbury lineup.

Seems like the schedule will drop earlier than past years. They tweeted yesterday "more than a day, less than a month."

Seems like the schedule will drop earlier than past years. They tweeted yesterday "more than a day, less than a month." Thanks for the heads up! I totally missed that tweet. The majority of festivals have already announced and it seems like waiting is counter-productive unless there is a good reason to. Also, maybe this means we get hive hints soon.

Any word on Hive Hints this year if its going to be less than a month?

Any word on Hive Hints this year if its going to be less than a month? This reply to my tweet confirms that there will be some I think. If I had to guess I'd say maybe week after next. That leaves for 2 weeks of hints and then a lineup announcement.

About the griswolds: last I heard from Danny (their guitarist) is that as far as he knows they aren't playing Bunbury but he wants to. This was probably a couple months ago.

Hopefully, Hive Hints start tomorrow. One headliner I could see is Modest Mouse. They headlined PW Fest last year. They are 5th listed at Bottle Rock a week before in California, behind Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, Maroon 5, and Macklemore. Nothing else on the schedule.

For what it's worth, probably not much, Florence and the Machine headlined both Bottle Rocket and Bunbury last year on back to back weekends. So it's certainly doable.
Having said that Bring me the Foo Fighters!

No hive hint so far, dammit. I went to PW Fest and saw Modest Mouse last year. He was very sick and it effected the performance. I wouldn't mind seeing them healthy from the VIP this year. Foo would be great, but I'd be skeptical about that possibility.

U2 just announced a Joshua Tree anniversary tour. They play in Dallas on May 26, then Chicago on June 3rd, then Pittsburgh on June 7th. I could see them headlining Bunbury either Friday or Sunday. Not super excited about U2, but The Joshua Tree is a really good album, and they're playing that in full on this tour.

My guess is that there is no way they will be playing Bunbury the weekend before.

That'd be a good get for Bunbury as well.

Nelsonville just announced their initial group of bands. They are the same weekend as Bunbury. I haven't double checked but I think we shared a few acts last year.

Just to come back on what I said about sharing acts. Charles Bradley played both festivals. That's the only one that I remember being at both. So it may have just been the one act.

I will just say that there is some really high hopes here. I think people might be a bit skewed on the size of this festival. I went last year and it was awesome but we need to be realistic about Tool or U2 headlining. Neither do festivals a whole lot to begin with so to think they would play Govs Ball/Bonnaroo and Bunbury is pretty wild. Those festivals are on 2 different levels. I could definitely see Phoenix headlining though.

I think Muse is too big too, but I'm still dreaming about that since they said they are doing "a few festivals in the US." And I agree Phoenix is a much more likely headliner for us.

Muse would probably be too big but for some reason I feel like I could see that happening. Maybe not this year but down the road. I could see them getting Chance potentially. He was at Breakaway last year and they are the same company and he is going to (most likely) be at Bonnaroo the following weekend. I think it was a HUGE miss that they didn't find a way to book The Weeknd (although I hear he is expensive) when he is going to be in town literally a few days after the fest.
