All of the festivals are trying to get out earlier and earlier every year due to the saturation. If they go Walk the Moon for the local flair, bring on Afghan Whigs and Bootsy too! Past time they booked those legends! I don’t know why I’ve never considered either of them. We need them at Bunbury! If they did like a legacy day on one stage that would be sweet.

I dont know if its been brought up yet but Walk The Moon does a pretty extensive US tour at beginning of 2018 and hits Stage AE (run by PromoWest) and skips Ohio completely and hits every surrounding city and state. That could certainly be a red flag for swinging back to do Bunbury and Columbus in June once the lineup is announced or something along those lines. They’d be a 2 or 3 on a Bunbury lineup no? There’s no way they can justify Walk the Moon at 2 or 3 imo. They’d have to be like a 5 or 6 at the highest. Their latest album didn’t impress me much but I do really like some of their older stuff. They have a pretty energetic show Not disagreeing. I know at Mamby on the Beach they were the headliners the last day. That festival was kind of stacked, more so with undercard talent, and is in the same realm as Bunbury (I think Bunbury is bigger) so that's why I assumed that. BUT if they were a 2nd or 3rd line then that's probably a REALLY good sign for us lineup wise.

Id be totally cool with that if there’s another strong rock headliner.

I do think it would be interesting to put them as a top 3 just based on acts theyve had in the past but last year Wiz Khalifa was like #2 and that seemed wildly high imo. I could see them as high as a 3 or 4. But definitely no higher than a 3. Thats assuming they booked two STRONG headliners or have an amazing undercard.

I would LOVE Arctic Monkeys to be there. There definitely seems to be a buzz that Jack White will be doing festivals this summer. There's no proof but I keep seeing optimism out there that he will do some festivals. Good thing is that people think festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo are going to be coming out this week and next potentially so we will get a better idea sooner than later on what/who we are looking at as possibilities.

Forecastle started dropping hints today, not sure who it is but I’ll post a link if anyone wants to check it out. Coachella should but out the next few days, and I think Bonnaroo next week? Anyone know who the rumored bonnaroo headliners are?
Forecastle clue:
I know Arctic Monkeys used to dress up as clowns for performances sometimes, but I think clues for festivals are generally more focused on the music.

Rumored Bonnaroo headliners are Eminem and Killers thus far. At first Fleetwood Mac was a very popular opinion as the #1 but since the Eminem talk everyones assumed FM aint happening. Talk of Jack White is ramping ip but I dont think theres any rumor for that, just that he lives close by and is putting out new music.

Bonnaroo dropped a hint on snapchat earlier this morning and it was the letter J on top of some beets. I would assume that means Jay-Z is headlining.

Wow, it's that time of year again? I'm back for another year of Guess the bands!
Sadly, unlike in previous years, my source is no longer in the position they were in previous years, so I'm likely outside speculating with the rest of you this year. Though fingers are crossed that word of mouth will spread anyway.
The only inside info I have coming out of last year is they are extremely happy with the way turnout has been for hip hop / EDM type acts, so I wouldn't expect them to steer away from that angle anytime soon.

Here's a few names Promowest has scheduled for the next five months leading up to Bunbury. There are always a few that spill into Bunbury:
Walk the Moon, Tyler the Creator, Noah Gallagher's High Flying Birds, ZZ Ward, Awolnation, Big Gigantic, Skinny Lister, Twin Peaks, AJR, Jimmy Eat World, Blue October, Royal Blood.
I don't know too much on the EDM side, so I'm really only throwing out acts that I know at this point.

I would’ve thought the opposite actually so that’s pretty surprising. I think EDM was successful, but the rap shows I caught weren’t very crowded or at least so it seems.

I think Saturday is hands down the best but after line 3 its meh. I fell like they’ve dropped off in lineups the past few years. Underwhelming.

Based on acts that are touring and available options, I have high hopes for this lineup this year. I do as well. I have this fantasy that Bunbury ends up with the best indie festival lineup in 2018. So do we start getting hive hints next week? That would seem to fit last year's lineup announce timeline...

Govs Ball just put out their lineup. Uninspiring is the word that comes to mind. It's the same weekend so we could see a few crossovers but I don't think historically it's been a lot. I would expect more of the low undercard to be there as compared to headliners.

I think Japandroids would be a good fit for Bunbury, even though I was not impressed when I saw them a few years back.

We usually share five or six acts. As best as I can remember, we've never shared a headliner. Though our headliners are occasionally in the Governor's Ball Lineup. See Wiz Khalifa last year.
Looks like Eminem is really making the rounds. Coachella, Governor's Ball, rumored Bonnaroo.
There are some good acts on the Gov Ball lineup, but nothing that is a major draw to me personally. Yeah Yeah Yeahs would be cool. N.E.R.D. sounds like a potential Bunbury headliner to me.

Not going to lie, I kinda like this lineup. The top 4 I would go see plus N.E.R.D. CHVRCHES, Galantis, Manchester Orchestra, Alvvays, Wolf Alice, The Struts and Sir Sly.

Bunbury's one of the few festivals I feel like that hasn't had the LCD Soundsystem headliner yet. The past 2 years it feels like they've been everywhere. They wouldn't do anything for me but I keep feeling like that's something to keep an eye out for since they havent' done any touring really on their new album yet and most festivals wouldn't book them again already after having them the past 2 years.

Interesting. I had Eminem and Jack White at the top of the list of potential headliners, and they are definitely in play now. Yeah Yeah Yeahs would make me happy. I think we get Manchester Orchestra too. They were here in '12 and '15, so they're due.
