If any of you were on the fence about going to the Melted Festival this weekend, they have announced that they are still a go as of this moment and that the remaining tickets are "deeply discounted". $65 for the weekend, $30 for Friday, $40 for Saturday. Where are they holding this again? I remember the pictures from last year made it seem pretty cool.

I've never been there but it looks like a cool venue inside an old church. Probably similar to The Southgate House here in Cincinnati (Northern Kentucky) but it looks nicer.

MoPop just announced. Looks brutal for me, personally. Only a few bands I care to see. Man, I should not have forked out $300 for VIP early bird in December... and now I have a 12-day cruise planned over that same time in Europe... GAHH.
If anyone’s interested, let me know.

That's a HARD pass for me. they definitely took a big step back as far as lineups go.

I do love that place, I wish they would do more alternative concerts and not just EDM (I don't mind EDM) and country. It feels like every country act that comes to town goes there or Nationwide.

I Actually like the Mo Pop undercard, headliners do nothing for me. I’d go if that was close to me but I’m not going to Detroit for it

I will say that the fest’s new location is in one of the few areas of Detroit that is pretty fucked still. 🤷🏻♂️ But yeah, this is the worst lineup I think they’d had. I only care to see like five acts.

The Melted Festival has now been cancelled. Hopefully nobody jumped on those cheap tickets earlier today based on the previous announcement.

Are we now to the point where Wonderstruck, Bunbury, Forecastle, etc. are going to get some buzz on cancellation?

NBA suspending the season, NCAA losing millions off of attendance by going fan-less, Tom Hanks contracting it, the only saving grace for the poor reception of Bunbury lineup would be to cancel lol

I was going to go to the Blue Jackets game with my source tonight, but it's closed to the public now. I asked if Bunbury was going to cancel and the exact words I got were, "I'm not sure yet". Sounds to me like it's definitely in the talk

We’ll see how it looks in a couple months, but I’m sure it’ll be much worse. I think they will definitely be waiting on those until a month or two out, they are still promoting acts and things like that. Forecastle in particular isn't until the middle of July, they have plenty of time. I saw Festival Owl noted that some other festivals haven't announced their lineups at all yet in case they either end up having to cancel all together or announcing right now would just get lost in the shuffle and probably not generate any new sales anyways (I'm assuming Wonderbus is in this category since it's Mid March and they were originally stating they would announce it early March).

So, i've been looking at festivals that have been cancelled, and they are all for good reason.
Ultra & SXSW bring in people from all around the world.
Treefort in Boise, Idaho is close to the center of COVID-19 in the US
Melted was supposed to happen this weekend, however, this week, it was found that COVID-19 was in Ohio.
As long as Ohio & the surrounding areas don't succumb to wild amounts of cases, and the spread of the virus slows down in general, Bunbury should be fine.

I like how all of these mentally handicapped bans keep going in place like it means anything. Either you’re concerned about the spread (mandatory lockdowns), or you’re not (uhm.. 100 people in a space is fine).
Why are grocery stores open? I work in a large one that has 300+ in it at any time. Let the virus run its course. These bans are wasting everyone’s time and money and bankrupting small businesses.

Part of me agrees, but the other part of me understands the science behind it. We need to flatten the curve. Yes, we are going to see a lot of infections over time, but spreading them out over a longer period is much better than having them all happen really close together.

If you think these restrictions aren't 100% necessary that you are ignorant. Just read up on what is happening in Italy right now. The US is trying to avoid that at all costs.

It’s too late for that. We’ll be in their situation within two weeks. What’s “ignorant” is saying “everything is closed — except grocery stores. Everything else is closed so make sure we pack even more people in there at any given time.” That’s not “flattening the curve”, that’s “kinda care, kinda don’t.” There wouldn’t be a curve if the US took this more seriously when they knew what was going on *back in November* When there’s inevitably “the big one” that has a 50%+ mortality rate, we’re all fucked, because the US government (well, most of the world’s governments) is entirely incompetent.

Even Spain and Italy have pharmacies and grocery stores open, people have to have access to medications and basic essentials in order to live in their homes and not leave. There probably could be some better structure to some of it but it's the first time a lot of places and people have gone through something like that. surprisingly there wasn't a huge amount of people at the grocery yesterday morning and people were doing a good job of staying apart. Until groceries and stuff can roll out at-home deliveries and amazon can hire more drivers we are kind of in a tough spot.

I didn't see anyone else on here say anything about it, but yesterday morning, Bunbury said on social media, essentially saying that Bunbury 2020 takes place beyond the governor's current restriction on large events, and that unless the dates extend, it's still happening. So, I guess that's a good sign.

So, I guess that's a good sign. I see so many scenario's playing out: 1. Restrictions get extended and Bunbury is cancelled. 2. Restrictions end and a. Bunbury sells poorly because everyone is flat broke (their audience is heavily impacted since they tend to be non-salaried_
b. People are just happy to get out and Bunbury is one of the earlier festivals that wasn't cancelled, Bunbury does well.
I mostly see scenario 1 and 2a.
I'm thinking Homecoming is cancelled. It's sitting just at the edge of the 8 week CDC recommendation of cancelling events with more than 50 people.
I ALREADY LOST FOXY.

I ALREADY LOST FOXY. i'd think sonic temple is in danger due to the fact that it attracts people from across the country, and it's much bigger than bunbury, and it's only 1 week after homecoming. staying positive though!
