does anybody think a day to remember might be hitting the festival circuit this summer, with the supposed new album and everything else, i think they'd be a great 7:45 yeatman or closing sawyer point band, as they've become less heavy over the years.

Just saw where Hootie and the Blowfish have a new album coming out soon. Wouldn't mind seeing them as the 90's nostalgia act.

I just found out that my best friends mom gave birth to his kids in South Carolina and have been extremely close with them ever since. They get backstage for all his shows and travel on the bus with them sometimes. I'll ask her if she knows anything. Not really a band I ever liked, but I wouldn't mind mumbling along to some songs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they generally more tied with country music though?

However, when HATB were big in the 90's, I guess you could say they were pop rock. They were huge on college campuses, kind of like a Dave Matthews Band or OAR, but maybe a little more mainstream. I don't know if they would be an exact fit for Bunbury, but man they had a lot of hits and sing along songs back in the day. They would obviously draw a bit of an older crowd.

As far as 90s nostalgia Red Hot Chili Peppers are rumored to be touring next summer and hitting the festival circuit, they’d be expensive but I think an act that would draw very well

I was thinking Hootie maybe as a 2nd or 3rd tier band, not a headliner. Anyhow, I doubt they are booked. Just saw that album coming out and thought they would be cool to see.

I tried to bring it up but they didn't really want to talk about it. I bug them constantly about details and sometimes they just have nothing to share. I did find out that they have roughly 1/3 of the artists in contract though. I asked if there were any artists that I would be excited about and got a "mehhhh i'm not sure"...I really have a feeling that they're not too hyped about whoever they have booked so far but I hope I'm just misreading that

Meaning headliners and normally signed first as they require more advanced notice and undercard is signed later in the process. Not a hard and fast rule, but just generally how it shapes up

At least it sounds like we aren't getting Travis Scott or Blink as I feel like there's enough history there that they would outright give some kind of hard hint at them knowing we'd all be fired up about them booking them at this point haha.

Random thought, but I bet Of Monsters and Men will be hitting the festival circuit heavily nest year. That seems like a very plausible 6-8 booking. Possibly the top 5 based on whoever is headlining

I would LOVE to snag of monsters and men!
Honestly, I would not be surprised if they booked blink again. According to my source, that conversation has been had but I never got the "yay" or "nay" on it

Seriously though, can you imagine if they booked them a third year in a row and they (inevitably) cancelled? The comments on all their socials would be absolutely brutal.

Unless the lineup was killer, I think that would be enough to keep a lot of the people who go year after year away You would have to been full-blown demented to think that have Blink 182 even considered for this lineup is a good idea. An announcement of them included in the lineup would derail ANY conversation on social media. They are not worth the headache. I know they read this board. DON'T FUCKING DO IT YOU DINGUSES!

So IHeartRadio's ALTerEgo festival in Cali was announced today. Worth mentioning because I think the headliners might be pretty indicative of who is on the festival circuit for 2020. Billie EIlish (Out, she'll be in South America, but I bet she's at other fests), The Black Keys (Very possible), Blink 182 (hopefully Bunbury has learned their lesson...hopefully), and the Lumineers (Very possible)

I think that's the level of headliner we're looking at, alongside someone a little more punk/pop, pop/rock. They seem to be very intent on keeping that genre near the top with their bookings of Blink (twice) and FOB last year. I'm thinking Panic! is possible as a headliner, or maybe someone like Paramore in that 4th or 5th spot. Jimmy Eat World further down on the undercard seems plausible too,

1. Black Keys or Lumineers would be great bookings 2. Odd that Whitney's source almost seems to contradict the Vampire Weekend assumption 3. Any iteration of Darius Rucker would be a worse booking than Fall Out Boy, IMO 4. Kid Cudi would be cool
