Oh it was so so worth it. Florence came in to the crowd during "What Kind of Man" and held my hand for a few seconds. Definitely a special moment. One pet peeve: The four or five people in front of me were literally THE ONLY ONES with their phones up recording the whole show. They held their phones up way above their heads even though they didn't have to do get a good shot. And I am quite tall at 6'1 so it was right in my line of sight. I definitely had to crane my neck at some points to see her and not a phone screen. I politely asked the girl in front of me to lower it and she gave me this weird look and continued to hold it up. I honestly don't get that. Other than that and some very poor entry management by the venue, it was perfect. I will never understand someone’s dedication to recording an entire concert. It’s insane. I will snap a few photos throughout but largely try to not even touch my phone during a show. I remember Florence asking ppl to put their phones away during a song at Bunbury and STILL a few ppl couldnt help themselves. The memory will make a longer lasting impact on you than a video imo. Oh that's how I was. I took about 6 pictures but kept my phone away. It was literally just the people directly in front of her and I'll never understand it. And yes, during Shake It out, one of the highlights of the show tbh, she broke it down and had everyone put their phones away and have a moment of unity. Everyone did, mostly because Flo was right in front of them and could see them, but the MOMENT that song was done and the lights went down, their phones shot right up. I just don't get it.Hell, my arms would get tired doing that for two hours.

I’m just really glad theres a green light for 2020 (Justin Timberlake confirmed, jk). If they want to continue the fest I think they either need to step up their game or lean in to the whole warped tour thing. I think a doable top 6 could consist of Weezer, Cage the Elephant, Tyler the creator, Dua Lipa, porter robinson, Louis the child. That’s pretty ideal for me but it’d be cool. I think they might grab Lil Wayne or someone older like that though as a rap headliner. And as a nice out of left field booking they could get Mars Volta lol

I have recorded two concerts in entirety — Greta Van Fleet’s final hometown show, and this past Saturday Sum 41’s show at The Shelter in Detroit. At the Shelter show, I made sure I was back against the wall and elevated so no one had their view obstructed, and I had a perfect view of the stage. Sound is incredible, and the picture looks great because I wasn’y moving. I can’t stand people who Snap an entire show while shaking their phone — you and no one in the world wants to see that mess.

I really want Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Vampire Weekend. I wouldn't mind seeing some bands come around again like The Killers, Black Keys, etc. I have to go with Wu-Tang for a hip hop act but all and all I hope our lineup improves next year.

This still makes me laugh how for 2019, I told everyone that I got the 100% confirmation that they would not be at Bunbury and people kept thinking I was trying to lie to them lol

I believed you. You haven't lied to us but you they could probably let you leak more info for them considering some radio girl cunt leaks the line up anyway.

Like I've said before, my source is a friend of a friend. Not someone that I talk to on a regular basis so really any info I can get, I am happy to get. They like to be very cryptic and vague when giving me info. They get a lot of enjoyment out of having the knowledge that no one else does.

I was going to say Twenty One Pilots but then I randomly thought about Wonderbus and how that is Columbus based and has a lot of grassroots and philanthropic efforts it's associated with that I could see them coming to Twenty One Pilots and asking if they would be interested in partaking next year.
Obviously that all is based on if the festival is a success and has the proper infrastructure and support.

It’s too dang early to buy tickets, honestly. That 10 dollar savings is not worth it. They should do a promo that any three day early bird pass bought this weekend is entered into a drawing for a free VIP upgrade. Announce it at the festival. That might get some interest. Or a free shirt or something

Totally baffling marketing strategy! lol what on earth. I almost wonder if they're trying to generate some extra cashflow fast. This has a very desperate look to it. Not to mention way overpriced if someone was basing their decision on the lineup this year. Forecastle's presale is a very reasonable 145.

Presale should either be a good 25ish% off, have free items (i.e. t shirts), enter to win something, or include some unique item that can't be had without presale. Simply throwing the normal presale price out is garbage. Also, I've been getting word that there are people unloading tickets outside of the festival for super super cheap since it's not selling very well. I actually had 2 people offer me 3-Day wristbands for free that they said they scooped up at events around Columbus.

It still baffles me that after putting together a solid lineup that sold out the event even after a major act backed out the week of, that we find ourselves here. Were they just trying to book the most cost effective lineup they could and hope the bands would draw their individual fan bases? Why didn't they add someone after Blink dropped out? So many questions...

I haven't been on this board in weeks, but I've been seeing the social media all weekend. And though it reminded me the lineup was mostly shitty, I've still been pretty sad I wasn't there. Pretty stoked about seeing Vampire Weekend at Summerfest grounds next weekend instead, however.
As far as 2020, who knows. It's hard to speculate before tour plans start coming out in November. I'd like QOTSA, Arcade Fire, and Arctic Monkeys as headliners. Tool and Mars Volta are two of my favorites.
I hope they take the dip in attendance and opinions of the core fans on this board seriously, and book us a better festival in 2020. I'd really like to buy VIP and go back next year. That being said, I feel like it's going to be a long, nervous several months of speculation before we find out.

Bunbury is officially on the clock! June 5-7 should be interesting depending on where Gov Ball and bonnaroo land. Bunbury missed on a ton of good acts rolling through Cincinnati and the Midwest this year I hope it doesn’t happen again. Really hope they can get me excited about 2020

The "year in review" meetings usually happen the week following the festival so I should be able to give people to official rundown here soon. I will be interested to hear what Promowest has to say.
Seems like overall people had fun but the crowds were a lot smaller and weren't as lively as prior years

Here are the most recent survey results Shoutout to the people voting Walk the Moon. We were joking the other day how there is no festival/event that Walk the Moon wouldn't play based on just how damn active they've been over the past 2 years. Also, if they get Twenty One Pilots that's great but for two years it seemed like it would be a no-brainer to get them and they haven't so I don't think I have much faith in them anymore to make that happen. Although, it would fit in the current trend of booking acts that have very rabid fan bases that would camp out all day at the rail just for the headlining act.
