I just did some research on where different cities are, reopening wise. (I was trying to figure out how likely Hella Mega is. At least one city already gave a reopening date AFTER HM is scheduled.) Based on plans and where we are now, a lot of the country is going to be opened back up entirely by mid-July, with the rest opened by late August. So some summer festivals will happen as planned, I think any in Ohio in August are fine, and full scale touring can resume in September. I was a bit surprised that Lexington and Louisville are scheduling festivals, our Governor has been pretty cautious thus far. My understanding is that the Governor's mandate would supersede any individual cities' rules. It's typically whichever is more strict. Cities can't say "nah, we're not going to require masks even though it's required statewide," but they can say "hey, 50% capacity isn't reduced enough, within city limits we're sticking to 30%." For example Boston is lifting restrictions three weeks behind the rest of Massachusetts. The state will okay opening back up on August 1 (projected) but they will keep the last round of restrictions until August 21. Re: LTL, they posted today they're in the process of securing "the last major headliner" they wanted for WTF and LTL, so it might be a couple weeks still before we hear the whole lineup. They don't want to announce part of the lineup without everything confirmed.

Yeah it feels like such a crap shoot right now. It's going to be weird for festivals, even just traveling, because states are all going to be at different stages this Summer probably. I have heard that the plan for the Crew new stadium opener on July 3rd is to be 100% capacity so I would think Ohio will definitely be restriction-less (maybe masks at something like that still?) around that time. The thing with that is, sports have been getting exceptions to capacity rules. Ohio could very well say "yeah, have your soccer game with masks and assigned seating, but you still can't do a general admission concert with the same number of people."

It's definitely showing what types of things will get more preferential treatment/leniency when it comes to rules and restrictions. I shouldn't be surprised I guess.

Yeah it's a little more manageable with assigned seats and then other seats being zip-tied shut so you can move around. I can't expect anyone to honor a social distance rule in general admission.

Gov Ball lineup is out. Actually booked a decent amount of (mostly upcoming) women! They definitely spent most of their money on the headliners. Burna Boy and Pink Sweats should not be top line of the undercard for a festival that big.

Well, I officially got my 4 tickets for Wonderstruck. My group appears to have dwindled to 2, so if anyone is interested in 1-2 tickets, hit me up. I’d rather sell them at a decent discount to people here than randoms on Twitter or Facebook.

Can't make it to New York this year but that is a lineup that I would love to be booked closer to us! Hits on everything really.

The top 2 each day are good, and I do enjoy Dayglow, Shaed, and The Vindys. Thinking of going up to Cuyahoga National Park on Friday and making a 3 day weekend out of it. But yeah, just send me a message on here if interested.

Riot Fest is releasing their full lineup next week, presumably — I fully expect a damn delicious lineup. I also blindly booked an AirBnB for Shaky Knees... as if I’m not poor enough. 🥺

Nine Inch Nails will be headlining Louder than Life.
Korn, Staind, MGK, Mudvayne, Beartooth, and Knocked Loose are the other confirmed acts. We can expect those tours to hit with the supporting acts too I imagine. So that'd include Gojira, Wage War, Alien Weaponry, '68, and Fire from the gods.
Only 2 days left so not a whole lot left to speculate about. I for one am pretty excited for NIN.

I saw with the lifting of health orders in early June that WonderStruck is opening back up it's ticket waitlist for more people to be able to attend the festival. They said they had over 3,000 on the wait list (!!!), that seems pretty good to me, especially based on some of the feedback about the overall lineup.
I'm curious if this will change anything with any other festivals locally? Wonderbus will probably just allow more but they hadn't hit their limit yet anyways.
I don't have much faith that Bunbury is coming back this year, or really in any large capacity that they used to do based on that interview a while back with the owner of PromoWest.

That’s so sad about bunbury. There’s a Bunbury sized hole in cincy now if they’re really going to scale back. If you book a solid lineup it’ll sell out!

Gotta get my hands on Wonderbus tickets. Wilco is incredible live, one of my all time favorite bands. Saw them at Taft Theatre in 2019 it was great, the Impossible Germany guitar solo (sneaky one of the best ever) lives rent free in my head

I emailed them and they were able to have my 4 Wonderstruck tickets converted to 4 Wonderbus tickets. Pretty pumped about that. Can see Wilco, Grouplove, AJR, Band Camino, Dreamers, Smallpools, St. Paul, and more.

Lolla officially a go for 2021. July 29 — August 1. Full COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results will be required to attend.
So everything in Chicago that point forward is almost certainly happening. I wonder if other events like Riot Fest are going to have similar vaccination requirements.

Definitely one of the most consistent fests out there i wound up cancelling my bnb reservation after seeing it... i felt like it was just. okay. but mostly, i couldn’t get over the fact that i’d only want to see 2 acts on friday, maybe 3 on saturday, and then 4 sunday, three of which would be conflicting most likely. seemed like too long a trip for that. the 2020 lineup they had was one of the best ones i’d ever seen. 😭 in other news — i really do hope bunbury happens next year. really enjoyed the layout of it, and VIP was awesome there. such a unique feel being at that park.

Bunbury VIP is one of the best values out there. You really get a lot for your money. So worth the upgrade. I'm worried they're going to scale Bunbury back so they can hold it at Ovation instead of Sawyer Point. That would be a shame, because I agree that it's a unique feeling there.

I have a STRONG STRONG STRONG suspicion that you are right and it will be exclusively at the Ovation, possibly spilling out on to the street or other open areas around Newport as well. Reason being, if my memory serves, I remember specifically reading an article that said Bunbury had signed a 10 year agreement with the City of Cincinnati to use Sawyer Point. This year would have been the 10th year. So they might be looking to move.

But my immediate reaction when you mentioned that type of set up......is like a Fashion Meets Music Festival / Promowest Fest type deal and neither were that great overall even though the idea of them were good at the time.

Hocking Hills Music Festival (inaugural) starting to release lineup in 2 days. Expecting similar acts to Nelsonville. Early bird tickets are $140. That leads me to believe they will have some decent performers. Oct 8-9.

Wonderstruck this weekend. Anyone going? Excited to hear how it's all laid out and what they have to do at it vs. what they did at Wonderbus 2019.
I saw that they put out their set times right away but Wonderbus hasn't released theirs yet. Hoping they do that soon. We have something on the Saturday afternoon of Wonderbus but I want to make sure I don't miss The Knocks.
