Wonderstruck this weekend. Anyone going? Excited to hear how it's all laid out and what they have to do at it vs. what they did at Wonderbus 2019. I saw that they put out their set times right away but Wonderbus hasn't released theirs yet. Hoping they do that soon. We have something on the Saturday afternoon of Wonderbus but I want to make sure I don't miss The Knocks. It should come out first week of August is my guess. I assume the schedule will look just like Wonderstruck’s, so I am guessing The Knocks will play around 5:25.

Anyone end up hitting up Wonderstruck this weekend? I did not, but the pictures looked great. I didn’t see any issues, so makes me more confident in Wonderbus.

I wasn't going to be able to get there until like 4pm so this is perfect. With the rise of things going on I'm hopeful they don't change things in regards to perhaps wearing masks outside for it (although I would do it if they required it for sure). I'm interested if they will go the route of requiring proof of vaccination or negative tests like I've seen other festivals switch too. I think it was Festival Owl that said that the artists are starting to demand it from festivals and venues. No surprise really, they want to keep touring and making back lost revenue but also want to be safe. Heck I saw Bob Moses did a few shows recently and said they had to quarantine because they had tested positive. I also noticed a lot of Express Live shows back been moved to outdoors and they are requiring their workers to wear masks and strongly advising everyone going to wear masks. So it looks like we likely wont get cancelled shows this Fall (at least for now) but how we can attend might change slightly. Haha selfishly I just want to be able to go to a few of the shows that we have tickets for this Fall no matter what is required of me to do so.

Railbird just announced the policy of needing to be vaccinated or having a negative test within the last 72 hours. I could see Wonderbus doing the same. I have my vaccination card in my wallet, so no problem for me. As for the schedule, can’t wait for it. I’ve seen Dreamers, Band Camino, and Grouplove. I’m pumped to see them all again, plus Smallpools, Doc Robinson, AJR, Peach Tree Rascals, Absofacto, Knocks, Wilco, Kesha, Valley, and St. Paul. We have an Airbnb right by Hound Dogs Pizza, about a 15 min walk. Can’t wait.

I noticed Fall Out Boy had to drop off the bill of Hella Mega for two shows because someone in their camp tested positive. Really hoping all three bands are able to play Columbus, but Green Day is the main draw for me.

ALso would be a nice peace of mind knowing everyone is either vaxxed or tested negative. Very excited for this lineup, little surprised to see Kesha only playing an hour, but stoked to see Grouplove gets a solid 75 minutes since they have two full new albums of content to play, plus all the old favorites.

I'm surprised no ones made an official app where you can log in your information and they will accept that as proof vs. the card. Haha I hate how they made them almost the size of index cards so they are hard to carry around and I have this irrational fear I will lose mine out in public or something haha. I also just saw Festival Owl posted a screen shot from the Inforoo forum and the InfinityPass insider came onto the board to say that Bonnaroo will likely do what Railbird did with requiring proof AND apparently a headliner is being replaced.

I’m betting it’s either Lizzo or Tame Impala backing out. All the other headliners have already been doing shows, many were at Lolla. I hope festivals do mandate vaccines or tests, and hopefully that worked at Lolla. Still a little early to know if there were substantial cases there, but I’m hopeful with their precautions it was minimal.

Festive Owl @thefestiveowl · 2m . @aegpresents will require proof of vaccination for all shows and festivals starting October 1st.
Negative #COVID test will not be accepted for entry after October 1st.
This will likely apply to all the PromoWest venues/Shows since they are part-owned by AEG right?

Promowest just confirmed it. Beginning in August 18th, it’s the new policy. I am happy about that, especially with indoor shows like Bleachers. It’s the right step.

I know of some people that I recently learned about that wont like this policy and likely wont go to shows they've purchased tickets for now but I figure, if this stuff helps get more people to get the shots, or at least keep us concert goers who have complied with those rules already safer...then bring it on!

Agreed. I don’t think it will impact attendance much, either. The demand for concerts after 18 months is high enough it shouldn’t matter. And it’s so quick and easy to get a test now, that it’s not much of an inconvenience. I’m hoping some of the younger folks to get out and get the shot. Personally, this will probably lead to me going to more concerts tbh

It would be cool if Promowest worked with the local health officials to try and set up vaccination tents outside of shows so people could get one right before going into a show. That would probably help get some of those people on the fence or just procrastinating doing it. Especially if it was a super easy thing to do right before seeing an act you wanted to.

Absolutely a brilliant idea. Also, saw several articles about how Lollapalooza was successful at mitigating COVID cases with its vaccination/test policy. two weeks out, and only 203 cases linked to an event with 385,000 people. I'd say that is an overwhelming victory, and a great sign for festivals/venues requiring the vaccine.

Happy Wonderbus week for those that are going.
First concert I will have gone to since seeing Saint Motel at The Newport Music Hall in late February 2020. Really excited.
(I think they'll email on how to access tickets? I don't remember for sure since it wasn't through Ticketmaster)

(I think they'll email on how to access tickets? I don't remember for sure since it wasn't through Ticketmaster) I believe they will give you wristbands at the gate. My guess will be the vaccinated/negative test will be a different color than the refuse to get vaccinated ones, showing who needs a mask on. I’m also pumped. Saw Michigander at Fountain Square Friday, was my first concert since Feb 2020. Was awesome. The only negative about Wonderbus is the forecast. Gonna be 93 Saturday. Drink lots of water.

1. EACH DAY, bring a printed copy of your vaccine card, vaccine record, or printed result negative COVID-19 test (showing test date) that match your government issued ID. Documentation presented via apps and smart phones is perfectly acceptable.
Anyone know if this means you could bring a picture of yours on your phone and that works or if you need like an authorized app that holds that info? (I know places are starting to recommend some but I haven't looked into them enough to do it yet). I don't love the idea of bringing my actual card around with me in a festival setting in case it falls out of my pocket or something, but also don't want to show up and then have to go back home to get the acceptable form of it.

Find it interesting they are offering 50% off tickets to college students for this weekend. WOnder if it's lower sales than they expected, or just trying to capitalize on college kids? Either way, $58 bucks (half price) is way more fair than the full price they;re charging. I know I bought mine early bird a LONG ass time ago for $75 for two days, whic was a steal. Still, $115 for a single day ticket is absurd.
Also, is it my imagination, or did they have a discounted two day parking pass in 2019, instead of having to buy two separate $20 parking passes? Annoying thing is, it's probably cheaper just to do the parking pass than to Uber or Lyft.
Also, interesting move to block comments on all social media posts. Guess they don't want the assholes complaining about the entry policy. Which is more than fair in my opinion. Post says vaccinated/people with negative results will get a special thing to signify they can go maskless, and extra security has been procured to enforce. Very curious to see the percentage of people who have to wear masks. My guess it'll be about 80 or 90% vaccinated/negative test.

Since they are working with the State and OSU in terms of Partnership I wonder if it has more to do with that in regards to offering to college kids. Which I applaud, hopefully things like this will encourage a few more to get it (and at least OSU is making students get it either way so it could be a good excuse to see live music and get the vaccination). I can't remember if it was this or Wonderstruck that sold out of their limited capacity allotment and then earlier in the Summer when those restrictions were lifted they opened ticket sales back up. I can only imagine how stressful it is to be a social media manager these days. I'm sure trying to police posts about vaccination mandates for businesses and events is an absolute cluster right now. At the end of the day, if people that refuse to get the vaccines ALSO refuse to go get tested and provide a negative test (which now you can buy at home kits at drug stores for a fairly cheap cost), then I don't know what to tell them. Better to just stay home really. I'll be interested to see if they have any incidents with them policing those who have to wear masks and them refusing to once they get in or something.

So apparently Railbird is a disaster due to poor planning. Hour+ lines for beverages and food and ran out of water within a few hours. People passing out from heat. Lots of angry people demanding refunds on social media.
On a better note, Wonderbus did a great job in this regard. Plenty of water with short/no waits. I had a great time and am so psyched for Grouplove tonight!!
