Cherub are playing in Cincy on April 18th, and I can tell you there is nothing in that contract stopping them from playing Bunbury. No idea what exclusivity clause Forecastle might have. There was talk the last few years of Bunbury having a contract that you couldnt play within 6 months inside the region. Do you think they are waiving that or it never existed? Here's how I see it. That contract would have been so other shows by the band don't cause people to not want to see them at Bunbury if they just saw them, drawing money away from the festival, but now that PromoWest runs the festival if those other shows are also run by PromoWest the money that would be taken away from the festival still goes to them anyway, so they wouldn't care, at least for shows that they run. Non-PromoWest shows I'm not so sure about.

I'm alright with that, Promowest does pretty well bringing Columbus some good shows...keeping my fingers crossed for The Decemberists and Matt & Kim from the Promowest stockpile.

I'm expecting (and hoping) for a return of Belle and Sebastian. Promowest has them playing Columbus June 14th, and they are free the entire weekend of Bunbury before playing in Pennsylvania June 9th. They are touring pretty heavy for their new album.

It'd be nice to see a return showcasing the new album.

There was talk the last few years of Bunbury having a contract that you couldnt play within 6 months inside the region. Do you think they are waiving that or it never existed? A 6 month clause is pretty severe so I doubt that ever existed, but I don't know enough to say. Most contracts will have some sort of clause on them, the length and distance is usually completely up to negotiation. If Bunbury wants to book an act that already has a date in the region, then Bunbury are the ones that have to hope the existing contract doesn't prevent it. So in this case Cherub is playing at UC on April 18th, but the radius clause ends before Bunbury, so if Bunbury wanted to book them they could. If they have reservations about booking an act that played the region so recently, then they wont make an offer, but I doubt they set some strict rule on themselves saying they won't book an act because they played in the region in the past 6 months.

Does anyone think this Heartbeats tweet is a hint? It's a bit of an odd way to say how long until Bunbury if it isn't, but there's no #Hivehints on it either.

As much as I hope it's hinting at a Royal Teeth or Grimes song, I think they most likely just came across the iPhone app this is from and thought it would be a cool way to count down the time until the festival

It could be a clue though, as Bunbury tweeted about "stirring the honeypot" a day or two before Hive Hints began, and when asked if it was a hint or just a "Winnie the Pooh fan statement," they responded "Can it be both?"
Also I've asked them twice on Twitter in the past few days if there has still been at least one correct guess for each hint as they said there had been after the first few days, but they haven't responded, so take that as you will.

Early on, I was so desperate to get solid answers that I was begging for any info from Promowest. Now that we have 5 or 6 we are certain of, I'm less concerned and just enjoying the ride. 6 days until the announcement, I'm feeling better. But come 8pm on 2/26, I will be F5'ing on twitter non-stop for answers.

They just threw out another tweet "Happy Friday everyone! Go crazy tonight! Throw fireworks!"
Throw fireworks? They are either being completely random, being confusing on purpose, or hiding hints in random tweets. I don't know which but it's driving me crazy.

"Go crazy! Throw fireworks!" is apparently the name of what seems to be a now-defunct punk band. Who knows.
It's sort of weird they randomly tweeted about it being Friday and using a strange phrase like that after already posting about counting down until the festival...and right when we were discussing that tweet. THEY'RE WATCHING US.

You're probably right. They probably are watching us. They keep linking to this site from their Twitter to come here and discuss. Heck, one of "us" might even be "them". Dropping hints in the form of guesses. Throwing us off track. Heck it might even be me! Oh, the paranoia!
Or maybe not.
Fireworks - Katy Perry. That settles it. One night will be Taylor Swift and Vance Joy since they have Friday night of Bunbury off and are in the area. The next night will be Katy Perry headlining.

The Pixies just released a North American Tour. They don't seem to be doing anything the weekend of Bunbury. Their last show on the schedule is May 28th in New York.
Every band that releases a tour schedule this week, is going to be a band that I am imagining could be the reason Bunbury chose to announce so late.
You never know.

Promowest announced that Best Coast is playing in Columbus on 6/18 today. They play Portland on 6/5, then Minneapolis on 6/8. Cincinnati is probably too out of the way to play between those dates, but it wouldn't be completely out of the question, I guess.

Bleachers are playing Sunday June 7th in Indianapolis with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Cage the Elephant, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Joywave. This would be great if all these bands come to Bunbury. Catfish and Andrew McMahon have been guessed, and Bleachers are all but confirmed.

Might be a little out there and I just really want to see them live but maybe the next space related hint could be Foster The People...they have a song named A Beginners Guide To Destroying The Moon, are playing multiple festivals and are free Bunbury weekend

I don't expect them as the second hint today, but I think there's a chance of them being at Bunbury.

Ben Folds has just announced a Spring/Summer tour, but hasn't spelled out all the dates yet. They mentioned a few cities and then also mentioned Bonnaroo. They did use the word exclusive festival appearance, but you never know. He fits in with the star from Nashville, and also would be a pretty good reason why they waited so long to announce the lineup.
Or it could just be a coincidence that he announces his tour the day before Bunbury announces their lineup (to the press anyway)
