Sonic Temple threw another clue up yesterday. With the lineup announcement coming on Monday I'm guessing there may be more to come. This clue translated to "Save me from the Dark" Seems like a pretty straight forward clue for Evanescence Clue came out around 10:00 yesterday so I'll be keeping an eye out around 10:00 today. If I had to guess, the next hint will drop on Sunday at 12pm ET. Honestly, Metallica, Bring me the Horizon, and Evanescence already looks to be a promising lineup imo. Hoping for a stacked undercard though. Oh, and Rage lmao

The final teaser for Sonic Temple festival is for Deftones. Epicenter has then on right before Metallica so I’m guessing that is where they will be at Sonic Temple as well.

On the note of rock festivals, Exit 111 will not return next year following poor ticket sales in its first year Surprised by this. They did a ton of upgrades to the Bonnaroo land in order to host multiple festivals on that sight. Wonder if they plan to brainstorm a new festival.

Yeah that’s what I’m guessing too. Don’t see BMTH opening for Metallica so I think they’ll be Saturday. Also not sure if Evanescence will be a Co-headliner or just a late main stage/side stage closer

With Epicenter in NC and Louder than Life in Louisvlle, and even Sonic Temple, there just wasn't really room for another, even at Roo. They had stronger lineups overall as well, which did not help. Metallica getting booked at all three of those festivals was probably what broke Exit 111's back.

Hangout is dropping its lineup next week. Will be interesting to see what it looks like. We usually share a couple of acts, most notably the 1975 last year. I think we can expect a few crossovers this year.
EDIT: Lineup for Hangout has been leaked and Festive Owl confirms that the headliners on the leak are correct: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Marshmello, Lana Del Ray, Cage the Elephant.
Personally, I think this is a step up from last year's disappointing top 6 of Travis Scott, Lumineers, Khalid, Vampire Weekend, Kygo and Cardi B.

Undercard is a little underwhelming for me as it is very EDM heavy, but it does include Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Head and the Heart, Mt. Joy and Barns Courtney. Unlike most lineup leaks, its clear where this one originated from. The leaked poster has a watermark "Confidential copy - Do not disclose. UTA Copy- Cheryl Paliegranie." A quick google search revealed Cheryl is Post Malone's agent, so safe to say someone at her agency is in big trouble.

In Rock/Metal festival news
-Mayhem Festival is returning in 2020. -Inkarceration Festival hints Volbeat as a headliner. -Sonic Temple Lineup comes out tomorrow at 9:00am EST. We have shared bands with ST before so some of the Alt/rock bands may be in contention for Bunbury. -Rage Against the Machine is apparently confirmed to not be playing any DWP festivals.

If someone gave me a free ticket or the did that $5 fire sale like last year, I would be pumped. Would I spent $175? Nahh

Yeah I’m hyped for Sonic Temple. Just bought my ticket. The Undercard is absolutely insane. I’m more excited for the bottom half of the lineup. The only bands that I’m surprised aren’t there are Starset and Babymetal. They’ve kinda become staples of ROTR/ST. Regardless, a really dope lineup. Some of the biggest up and coming bands on there

>Reddit hates this lineup I don't see a single thread there with more than a couple comments. Most of the immediate comments I saw were negative. Even the facebook ones mix from excited to "meh." They'll sell at least the same amount they did last year either way because of Metallica so I don't think it's an indicator of how well it'll do regardless.

To be fair, the lineup is pretty anemic.
Slipknot, like it or not, is a third rate headliner. They pulled up lame at LTL last year, and that's par for the course.
Most everyone up to Rancid either is too regular to be special or was on a Groupon tour within the last couple years--less Staind, who I welcome the reunion, but it's certainly not a draw.
After that you just get a mismash of stuff. Cypress Hill and Flatbush Zombies are good, but out of place. Most of the others, again, too common to be special or were on LTL or Groupon tours in the last couple years. The Darkness is there in the same sort of Andrew WK Ironic Hard Rock slot, but not half as good.
Metallica, Deftones, Staind*, Rancid, Flatbush Zombies, Brass Against would sell a ticket for me if at least half of them were on Friday. Otherwise, not so much.

I'm pretty disappointed on a personal level. I bought tickets immediately after the Metallica announcement. I'm not even a huge Metallica fan. I've just never seen them and they are one of those bands I would like to experience in person.
I don't like Slipknot or anybody on the second line. Evanescence might put on a decent show.
Rancid, Cypress Hill, Royal Blood, Suicidal Tendencies, Dropkick Murphys, Anthrax are all bands I've never seen that I would enjoy seeing, but there is nothing there that makes me happy that I have bought tickets. Since I'm paying off my payment plan on the tickets for the next four months, I will be checking them all out on Spotify. There's a lot of bands that I'm not familiar with that I will give a listen to. Maybe as it gets closer the lineup will grow on me. I liked last year's lineup a lot. And I loved both Louder than Life and Exit 111's lineups last year. But this one just doesn't do a lot for me.

And Suicidal Tendencies, if you're into that kind of thing (but they don't play Institutionalized much anymore!) Dropkick is a solid show, and honestly once you've seen them once you're done. Their show doesn't have all that much variance in it.

People just love him, and for some reason, his music is even charting on the alternative charts now, though there is nothing alternative about it. Sadly, the thought has crossed my mind that Bunbury might book him as a headliner this year. He's a huge draw, as seen in 2018, and he's appeared at the other AEG festivals now, including this year's Hangout.

Post just finished up the first leg of his arena tour and the second leg starts in the new year. No dates on either leg in Cinci, Columbus or Louisville, No dates that weekend either.

He had by far the biggest crowd I have ever seen at Bunbury (and for the millionth time, it was the better stage for the larger crowd). I personally hope they don't, because whoever plays on the same stage ahead of him will be absolutely ignored and disrespected.

I've never been to Electric Forest but would love to at some point but my god it has to be exhausting to be an annual attendee and have to sit around at your computer at the exact minute they go on sale in order to get a ticket. The entire festival sold out in under 30 minutes. Yeesh!
