I saw Dropkick Murphys at Warped Tour forever ago and still remember how hyped the crowd was for them. I also am excited to see Code Orange (who is definitely more heavy metal but they've done some wrestling theme songs and stuff like that recently), Anthrax won't be around forever so that's a band just to say you saw, The Darkness playing "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" live is like a totally random bucket list item for me so I'm jazzed about that, and Saint Asonia is a band I randomly have been hearing on Octane and have really been digging.

Saint Asonia made their debut at Rock on the Range in 2015. Should be a really special show this year. It’s Three Days Grace old lead singer

If anyone missed out on My Chemical Romance tickets that wanted them, Festive Owl just tweeted out the fact that Riot Fest in Chicago has three day tickets for $149 a piece and VIP tickets for $299 a piece. Probably way more worth buying tickets to see MCR at one of their actual shows.

Okay, Sonic Temple guys (and gals) I bought Sonic Temple because I've never seen Metallica and it just seemed like somebody I wanted to experience sometime in my life. I'm not a die hard but figured there would be plenty else to see there. After the lineup release it kind of left me without much excitement. I like Metallica and being a guy in my 40s I like some of the old acts, specifically Sublime, Rancid, Cypress Hill, and Suicidal Tendencies. I'm not big on Slipknot. I like Royal Blood and I'm sure Evanascence will put on an entertaining enough show. Based on this info or just based on what you like, who on the lineup should I check out more closely to raise my excitement level for Sonic Temple? Last year had tons I would have been excited about. I was just busy that weekend. Some great bands further down the lineup are... Friday: Dirty Honey (retro rock), Bones UK (would be great at bunbury), Hellyeah (Supergroup with the singer from Mudvayne), Jinjer (female fronted metal) Saturday: Ice Nine Kills (gore metal, all songs based on movies and books), Fire From the Gods (hard rock and reggae inspired), DED (quick hitting hard rock), Bloodywood (Bollywood inspired rock) Sunday: Crobot (similar to Clutch), The HU (Mongolian Rock), Pop Evil (high energy live catchy rock show), Code Orange (female inspired heavy metal) I will end up seeing Metallica 6 times in 2020. They were my first concert and I have seen them 8 times so far. BUT! I am most excited to see Ice Nine Kills, Cypress Hill, and the Hu for the first time. This lineup is fantastic. Even leave if you early and miss Metallica or Slipknot on one of the nights (which you shouldn't, both are some of the best live acts you will ever see), there is far more than enough to make it worth while going in early and leaving before the headliners.

Railbird Lineup coming February 19th. Wonderbus slated for early March. Hoping for a strong showing from WonderBus, I had a really great time last year. Not an amazing lineup, but it hit some nice little pockets for me of bands I like/wanted to see and some that I hadn't heard of that were really good. As well as a couple bands I would never really actively seek out to go see, but I was happy to be able to check them out at a festival I was already at

Oddly they were one I was just meh on. I heard quite a bit about them previously and tried to listen to a decent amount of their stuff, but I just could NOT get into it. Jenny Lewis was a bit on a disappointment for me as well. I was surprised because I LOVED Rilo Kiley, and I like some of her solo stuff as well.

So everybody has something they can enjoy and it doesn’t have to be the same thing. Not this “just sell the most tickets with headliners who have big followings” mentality Bunbury apparently has.

Yeah that festival is always that way. It’s like jazzy RnB festival with some rap thrown in.

It is, and attendance over the three days is usually around 80,000. It's a HUGE money maker for the city. Definitely more than Bunbury.

Anyone heard any Railbird lineup rumors? Can't really find any discussion out there on the web, other than their FB page says stay tuned to socials for a possible hint.

Bubury’s organizers truly are the worst in the business. That’s about all there is to it. Granted, Riot appears considerably larger than Bunbury, but we deserve better than this. Reminder to self to take MoPop being 6 miles away from me for granted.

Keep in mind that Riot Fest brings in more than twice as many people as Bunbury. I can't find any official figures but looking at Reddit it hits between 40 and 55k people per day.
I would also guess there are some festivals that bands like to play more than others if for no other reason than to see bands and people they know and Riot Fest feels like the kind of festival that would happen at. That, of course, is just speculation but I bet it's true for some bands. I can't imagine there are many bands thinking that they have GOT to play Bunbury Festival.

Went to this festival last year and plan on going back if the lineup is decent. I was very impressed overall. The only downside is everything was rather expensive. Seems like the target demographic is a more upscale crowd. Anxious to see who they book in year two.

Not sure where to post this so I’m posting it here. Rage tickets were $140 total for stadium sitting and they’re donating ALL of the proceeds from ticket sales, including fees, to local charities and activist organizations in each city. Thought this was more reasonable than I was expecting honestly
