I saw that last night and I was pretty shocked to read the comments. A lot of people think it's trash but I think this is straight fire. It hits literally every genre from jam (Dead & Company), rap (Jay Z & Chance), alt (Killers & Black Keys), and many many more. I think this might be the most well rounded lineup I have seen in a long time. Fur shure something for everyone

That lineup is FANTASTIC. Honestly, Friday's lineup alone is better than just about anything else out there. The fact that there are 12 acts on one single day I'd have to see is pretty astounding. Saturday is still very solid as well, but for me, it falls of a little on Sunday. Still, this blows Lollaplooza, Bonnaroo and Coachella out of the water. No comparison. I think this is bad news for Firefly and Governors Ball too. This is worth making the trip for.

Some headliners that would be fun to see but no real "wow" factor in the top 8. The undercard seems rather shallow as well compared to past years. 2017 was a phenomenal line up, last year was a step down and this year is much of the same.

If they decided to do Woodstock every year again then you can definitely start to count down the days of Firefly and Govs Ball. I know it's because of the aura of the name Woodstock and all but in general, if a festival is able to pull this lineup then everyone else really has no excuse when some of these other festivals are legacy festivals in their own right.

Can anybody tell me about forecastle. I’m seriously considering getting single day tickets for Friday.

Also, Any other festival recommendations for this summer. Keep in mind, I’m a college junior so Woodstock and lolla are not a choice, so my ticket price range goes up to around 275. I’m into mainly alternative and indie. I’m already going to bunbury and shaky knees (free tickets) and considering Friday for forecastle. I can’t do gov ball since same weekend as bunbury.

Can anybody tell me about forecastle. I’m seriously considering getting single day tickets for Friday. I went on Friday last year and I highly recommend it. Great spread out venue, laid back people, and awesome vibe. This is a festival that has been around for a while and has a team that knows what their doing, and it absolutely shows. I definitely plan on doing Friday and hope to be there the whole weekend. Can't say enough positive things

The branding makes me think it'll be like Folky or maybe even Country music but I haven't really seen any indication to the direction they are planning to take?

No, not anything out there as far as rumors. But I agree about the branding, I think this will definitely have a folky/country vibe to it. I think it'll have one country headliner and one rock headliner. Probably someone like Kacey Musgrave or Sturgill Simpson. Perhaps the Lumineers. This is set to be the sister festival to Forecastle, replacing Sloss Fest which they cut after last year. The fact that Forecastle doesn't have a country act in the top 5 this year really makes me think they're focusing Railbird on that market.

Did they just hint The Raconteurs? I think they might have! That would make a lot of sense. It had been speculated they'd be playing Forecastle, and this is essentially a sister festival, much like Sloss was. Also, people on social media seem to think there's a Brandi Carisle and a Hozier clue in there as well. Solid bookings if true.

Those three bookings would be very good for a first year fest, but I really feel like there needs to be one strong headliner in addition to those mentioned. I can't imagine they reveal their top three ahead of time like that. I'm thinking a country headliner like Sturgill Simpson or maybe someone like The Lumineers

All of the Warped alums just decided to go their own ways. This is basically the Monster Energy stage and Sad Summer Fest is the Journey's stage

I think they are trying to establish a stronger punk scene at Legend Valley with Camp anarchy/Disrupt. Could lead to more potential venues I suppose

Those 2 alone would get me to make the trip. Interested to see when the dates are for the festival.

Woodstock may be in trouble behind the scenes. The Black Keys pulled out citing a scheduling conflict, but there's no conflict as of now, and IDK what could be big enough to make you not play Woodstock unless there was something weird going on

Ok, shout out to Louisville for being a surprisingly great city for festivals. They have three different, but uniquely solid fests this year with Forecastle, Bourbon and Beyond, and Louder than Life. All three dropped really strong lineups this year. for their respective bases.
