I know we don't talk about them as much but after a few of us attended last year and overall it felt like there was a lot of interest I figure it's worth giving Forecastle their own thread.
Currently there aren't official dates for Forecastle yet. I asked them on Twitter and they said official info is coming soon.
There were some rumors on reddit in the Summer claiming they might be moving it to Nashville but there wasn't much more smoke to that since then so for now I'm going to assume it's still in Louisville.
Andrew McMahon and AWOLNATION skip Cinci on their tour May - June and don't touch Kentucky so that definitely feels like 2 potential acts for them.

Forecastle was just confirmed through an AC Entertainment Email to still be in Louisville and dates are July 12-14th.
EDIT: Just realized that actually Forecastle and one other festival of AC's had the 2019 dates listed on the website and not the 2020 one. Which is kind of interesting imo.....

I would look at the 2019 ‘roo lineup and expect a few from that to appear in 2020. Could see a Childish Gambino or Kasey Musgraves or a couple others from that here. I think Vampire Weekend is in play for either Bunbury or Forecastle. Tame Impala sounds possible as well.

Something like Tame Impala, Kacey Musgraves and Childish Gambino seems really plausible actually. I'm not a Mumford fan so they don't do anything for me but it certainly would sell tickets if they were there.
Are the Strokes touring? I would love to see them but I didn't know if they were active or not.

I've heard they're possible for U.S. festivals as well. Childish Gambino is out. He has said multiple times that his 2019 tour would be his final ever. Agreed about Kacey Musgraves. She makes a lot of sense. Assuming there are no major conflicts, I'd have to think she's very, very likely.

I could see Mumford taking the slot of The Strokes if they aren't there. I also read somewhere that The White Stripes might low key be reuniting. I'm not sure overall what their pull is (as in like if Forecastle would be smaller than festivals they could headline) but they would make sense if they fit that price/festival bracket? Naturally so would Bunbury since they did have Jack White 2 years ago too of course.

The White Stripes reuniting would be similar I think.

Yeah, don’t know a lot about Childish Gambino, but know that Forecastle typically pulls an act around that line to be a headliner the next year. Their headliners for 2019 were 2 and 14 on the 2018 ‘roo lineup (The Killers and Anderson. Paak) LCD Soundsystem was headliner in 2017 after being a headliner at ‘roo in 2016 and so on. With that said, not sure I see a 2019 ‘roo headliner that would fit the Forecastle bill in 2020. I’m kind of thinking a Mumford, Kasey Musgraves or Chris Stapleton, Tame Impala top line is realistic. People here eat up Stapleton (not personally into him, but to each their own). Maybe the Strokes in place of Mumford, but I really could see Mumford being here if they are touring next year (have no idea if they are).

I’m pumped I made the official forecastle picture, if you zoom in the middle, I’m the tall guy wearing the blue FCC hat. But, this is great news. I’m hoping to go to bunbury and forecastle this year. Or possibly Wonderbus. Hoping to hit 2 festivals this summer.

We are always open to going to new ones (maybe Firefly depending on lineup or Electric Forest is on our bucketlist but I'm not desperate to camp lol) but Bunbury, Wonderbus and Forecastle are so easy to choose from.

Although there wasn't much crossover last year, I have a gut feeling we'll get some artists from Shaky Knees at Forecastle this year. I think any of the headliners are fair game. They do like to repeat headliners at Forecastle. so I'd be looking at The Black Keys as a real possibility. As for undercard, I'd bet money on Brittany Howard being there. I'd be curious to know if Of Monsters and Men are out because of the Homecoming gig.

Since AC Entertainment runs both Homecoming and Forecastle I would bet that they aren’t out of the picture due to any sort of clauses. But who knows whether they will want to have them booked both places.

So I just realized Lumineers are in Louisville in March so I'm pretty confident that we can cross them off the list for Forecastle and also bump them up for Bunbury since they're not stopping in Cincinnati this run and they are not booked for the final day of Bunbury. Seems like a good educated guess.

Seems like a good educated guess. Good catch! They are in New York the day prior, but as last year taught us, that is not a problem for a headliner. They are also out of the country during Forecastle. However-with arena shows in Indy, Columbus, and Louisville, will they feel the need to do Cinci at all? Will PromoWest still book them or consider it a little over saturated? I'd also say its probably just as likely that Lumineers do Governors Ball on Sunday as well.

However, we can't rule Bunbury out because last year the 1975 had two NY shows and did Bunbury on the day in between, so it can happen.

Their Instagram just announced the Bourbon Experience is now open to everyone and it’ll be expanded with more things and in a shades area. That would really stink if it was no longer in a tent with AC and just out in the open. I get letting everyone do it but I’m curious where they are going to put them. Wondering if theyd move it on the other side if the river/canal and move the vendors and local stage over to where the bourbon tent was last year?

Will do some digging to see. They used to have a stage where the Bourbon Lodge is now and it faced towards the Ocean Stage. The sound bleed was pretty bad, so would be surprised if they went back to that set up. Although, you never know. Another option is putting the local stage back where it used to be (where the wheel/ship are now). Bad part about that is there is very little shade so it got pretty toasty there. Another thing to note, it is normally the 2nd week of July so it is a week later this year. Curious what that means for the lineup since it is not the same weekend as Mad Cool. Lineup will be out ‘early 2020’’

I've only been last year so I'm not sure what that would look like but I'm wondering if they would have the capacity to do so. I do like that they are doing it a weekend after Mad Cool because there are a few acts I feel like could be possibilities on that lineup now that it's not the same weekend.

Hearing one of the headliners will be Cage the Elephant. Will see if true. Makes sense given their KY roots and that they are on the Mad Cool lineup (as well as NOS Live) the week before.

That's disappointing if true. They are mediocre live and they were just there in the #5 slot in 2017. However, Forecastle does repeat headliners pretty frequently, so that does make a lot of sense

To be fair, it was a co-headlined tour and they have extensive catalog of very successful hits. They're about Beck level by now, and certainly more headliner worthy than Anderson Paak if we're only judging success. I definitely think they are headliner material at Forecastle level festivals, but considering how unimpressed I was seeing them last year, I just think they could do a lot better. Good studio band, mediocre live.
